So you will NOT get full sharing between two units that are NOT connected via Ethernet. The waypoint sharing you talk about using N2K is only available when both units are on. You can't mark waypoints on one MFD and later turn the other machine ON and populate with those previously marked waypoints....

You need Ethernet for full sharing capabilities. Try another Ethernet cable to see if it eliminates the noise.

You will ONLY have traditional sonar. MK offers an Ultrex with MEGA DownImaging, but it works only with Bird.

Absolutely agree with Ken for most of the OEM transducers. But if you have a high dollar aftermarket transducer like Airmar ($1200), you can successfully connect the two cable pieces using one of the few couplers designed by Airmar and sold by Gemeco for about $70.

Yes. Your 3-1 should be attached to Sonar CH2. You will need to plug the blue connector into Sonar CH1 (blue). Now you simply need to change the SOURCE in your menu to view either transducer.

You say ‘connectors’. Please take any strain away from the transducer cable as it has nothing to do startup. I would get a replacement power cable.

How long ago did you buy this Generation 2 HDS? You should be pushing the ENTER button unless you have a Gen-2 touch.

The card is empty? You using a MAC or PC? If PC which browser? Downloads from Lowrance work great with Chrome or Firefox. There are problems with Explorer or Edge.BigPapa wrote:Yes I did check, its Not there!

The fixes you have read about were caused and corrected by firmware. The other gps problems are being caused from Air Force testing of gps satellites. Even when time is corrected on these chips, the tidal info will still be off. Waiting till April for the time to be corrected seems right in your cas...

Probably the setting that needs changing is your transducer type. Change the transducer selection to U2, US2 and that should fix you up. SONAR/INSTALLATION/TRANSDUCER TYPE

You need the Xi5 and the N2K Pinpoint gateway. Not the Xi3.

Your description points directly to a power problem. Check all your wiring, batteries, and connections. You can use a multimeter to check current at your HDS. You can also temporarily wire your HDS to a dedicated battery to see if it still happens.

It is probably much better to convert cable to hydraulic then buy the hydro Outboard Pilot. That is what I have done in the past, $ about the same.

As far as I know, you need to have more than one unit networked in order for that to appear. This is simply a way of telling you where that unit is getting it's sonar info from. 1 make sure you are not in ‘simulator mode’
2 try zooming IN extremely close.
3 make sure you have a clear view of the sky.
