Re: 6.89 Senkos
I didnt realize it untill I got home but I just paid 6.89 for 5 inch Senkos. What the heck is going on here, 7 bucks for plastic worms that might take $1.50 max to make? "Minimum wages" at work. Everything HAS to go up. The people earning min wage gain no ground whatsoever. Don't get me s...

Re: A few things about fish photos.....
Good Lord, some people need a life. I don't care how you hold the fish (as long as he not being injured) just keep those pics coming. I know a big fish when I see one. If I can't catch em, I am glad you can. Keeps my "juices" flowing.....

Hopfully not a dumb question......
In the Westernbass classifieds I notice that some boats are advertised as "tournament" boats and some are not. What constitutes a" tournament" boat? Is this a boat that was won in a tournament? Also, are boat loans ever assumable? Never see that mentioned.

Re: Bass Boats
Appreciate the input. All things being equal and assuming reasonable maintenance and care, what is considered "high" hours on an outboard?

Bass Boats
There are probably as many opinions as there are people on this forum, but what is considered the top-of-the-line bass boat? What would be considered entry level? How would you rank them top to bottom?

There are pilings in the water (visible at low tide) as you exit the ramp area into the lake. Be very careful. Maybe follow someone else out and hope its not their first time too.

What is the procedure for releasing these fish? Do they try to spread them out or is Franks going to become an aquarium?

Good info. A friend recommended the white fluke and I tried it for the first time Fri a/noon. Missed my first bite but later nailed a solid 4 pounder. Love the action of the bait in the water.
Re: hurt ego
I can't see where a "scent" would repel a fish hitting a reaction bait. Would this apply more to soft plastics?

If you go to Amador, be prepared for some type of confrontation at the ramp. Mgmnt lets anything go.

Thank you Frank (and all the others) for your responses. I really appreciate it. The motor has 563 hours on it. I don't know what constitutes "a lot". It has been regularly maintained and to my knowledge has never been overheated. I bought it used so I really don't know. Would there be any...

It is very similar to "raw" oil such as what you might smell in the oil fields. Very strange. Thanks for the recommendation but I am in Stockton.

I have 1996 Crestliner with a 3.0 Mercruiser that emits a strong oil smell when running. The motor is spotless (no oil leaks). Any ideas?

You are right PF3352. We were "on the rocks" one time and the prettiest sight I've ever seen was that Coast Guard raft busting waves headed our way. They do right much more than they do wrong.

Re: so i get boarded by the coast guard on friday...
IMO, unless they are looking specifically for drugs or alcohol there is no reason for them to board. (I can't believe I am saying this. I am a huge supporter of law enforcement) They could accomplish the same thing, and get more bang for their buck, by simply sitting on a marina and inspecting as we...

Did they actually come on board and tie it off, or throw a line and instruct you to tie it to the pedestal? Either way I would be pretty ticked. Were cleats available?

Personally, of the three mentioned above, I would chose La Quinta. It is set back off the main drag behind a couple of restaurants and less susceptible to drive-by vandals.

On a recent trip to Phoenix I had a problem with the stock Firestones on my pickup. Even tho the tires were still under warranty, my past experience with Discount/Americas Tire compelled me to return there. Mark, do you think I would have that problem in just three months? I have tried to do some research on the effects of long term submersion of aluminum but haven't had much luck. I definitely don't need a barnacle problem.

Re: Berthing an Aluminum Boat
My whole purpose in berthing the boat is so I don't have to contend with all the "players" at the ramp. So storage is really not an option. I had thought of the bilge pump situation and that is something I will have to change on my boat. Thanks for your responses.
