Got a 40+ # plus striper on Saturday Oct 6th. I don't have a better weight as our scales would not go high enough but everyone that looks at the pics say that 40 # is conservative. This is my all time personal best; any species, any water!
I was fishing with large mouth bass gear: a Lamiglass ripbait rod, Pluger Trion baitcast reel, and 15# test line. We tried to weigh it, no joy, so we took some pics and released her.
A full report and pics can be found on:

I will also posted the pic on this forum. Guess some of the larger fish are in the system now!

Nice fish man. I'm suprised that behemoth didn't staighten the staycee hooks out. Good job chasing that toad down.

I got lucky....and the people I was with really helped. One guy was saying "don't horse it in!" while the other was on his trolliung motor helping me gain on the fish. We were fishing for LMB and perhaps the occasional striper going by but I sure did not expect to hook into anything like that!

What an awesome fish Buzz! I'm so envious!!!!!
I tried for over 5 years to catch a striper over 20lbs and finally suceeded last fall with one around 25lbs in Disco Bay.
Your fish drarfs it. Congrats on a big fish and the skills to land it.

Re: VERY Nice Fish Buzz!
Holy cow! What I would give for that monster to be at the end of my line.
