Castaic water level

Post by mrobinett »

Has anybody heard how low they are willing to bring down Castaic? We were there yesterday and I've never seen it that low. The ramp, going down on the right side, is completely out of the water so there is only room for about three boats to launch at a time. You also can't run straight to the dam because a huge shoal is in the middle. You need to stay towards the left to get around it.

It's dropped 40 feet since New years. I watch the CA.GOV website for Castaic. Those graphs are pretty eye opening. I just wonder how much longer they can take the water out and still be launchable.

I spoke to the lifeguards awhile ago and they said the water level could go down alot farther because the ramp goes way down.

Let's hope so, Kevin. There was nothing coming in on Sunday. I hope they start it. By the way, Jim, the guy I was with, landed a 11.66 largemouth on a rip bait Sunday morning. That's the biggest bass I've ever seen.

Yep, the water is on now. It's coming up a foot at day, for the next 30 days they said.

Sweet!
