Another "starving" college student wins the Yamamoto BIG BASS Grand Prize!

We all know that EVERYTHING evolves over time...and that NOTHING remains the same.

And this axiom was certainly proven true as many faces that participated in the field were unfamiliar to the Yamamoto staff, as it seemed a whole new crop of anglers decided to get in on all the fun of a unique event held in a challenging hourly format.

For at the end of two days of fishing, even the newcomers began to get the "jist" of things, an figured out a strategy to do well in a competition that to many, closely resembles "Texas Hold Em".

Virtually every bait in the Yamamoto line caught fish, but wily veteran Tom Perison put all his eggs in one basket, and stuck with one bait - the new "Yama frog", the result of which caused him to rack up 3 checks over a two day period, for a total of $400 dollars, and newcomers to the event - Sean Bias, and Biagio Capp (the latter a starving college student), captured the overall big fish award, and grand prize of $2,500, and $8,300 dollars respectively.

We would like to thank everyone that made this another great event, and want to send a special thanks to Kevin Yost General Manager at Guns, Fishing, and Other Stuff - in Vacaville, for his dedication and un-tiring service in support of the event and the participating anglers.

We look forward to seeing you at the next Angler's Press event...the Ulitimate Frog Challenge - July 30-31st at Russo's Marina...where you can use ANY BRAND OF FROG - you choose..and may the BEST frog win!!

See you there!

Actually the reason for the new (unfamiliar) anglers on the podium as you put it is because most of the usual anglers were fishing the Tracy Bass team TOC or WWBT team TOC that this org yet again scheduled on top of. This is also the same reason why the participation was so much lower for this event. You combine that with your ridiculous payback for a swag only tournament and you get what you get.

Regardless, congrats to the winners!!!
