What gauge wire do I need to run power direct from battery to nmea power switch

Most cases you need no larger than the wire size you are connecting to.

Edd is exactly right. Although just in case you use that power for an additional use in the future and since you are pulling a new wire anyway, go up a couple sizes just in case. The larger the copper the better the source, hot or ground.
