Please help with million dollar question.. get on lake turn on hds 9 gen three with 3D transducer down scan.. image is amazing.. switch to sonar run a bit stop switch back to down scan image is now crappy not as pretty and detailed as it was coming out of harbor? Why is this? Not just this unit used to happen on my gen 2 seven..

I've never heard of this before so I don't have any advice other than to call Lowrance Customer Care or look on Lowrance.com in the FAQ's.

Maybe the next time this happens, turn everything OFF except the sonar and see IF the image clears up. If it does, then it's just a matter of 'test and eliminate'. Time consuming but everybody can do it. Not likely it is the MFD, because you said it happened in the past with another MFD.
