Anyone used a Garmin 73SV

Post by Rod Martin »

Moved to Florida need to look under docks and sideways in shallow water to find brush piles or things put out from docks that hold fish. Saw a good price on the Garmin unit
Will it work for now ?

I have one at my console. It's a no frills unit that works pretty good. No issues and i've had it a year. The transducer is probably 6" long so it will be big hanging under your trolling motor. I have a Garmin Striker DI on my TM and the transducer on that is fairly small and made to mount flush to the TM. Not sure if Garmin makes a flush mount ducer for their 73sv. If they do I bet it won't be cheap.

I like mine. Just ordered the 94sv. Easy to install, easy to use and didn't break the bank.
Good luck!!!

Thanks guys
I put my order in . At $499 I thought it would be worth trying. Standard sonar doesn't do much when everything is 10' or less
