Locatis and Rojas take WWBS at Havasu

Post by Justin Locatis »

With air temperatures in the mid 40's at take off 40 teams headed out onto Lake Havasu Saturday to try to unlock what had been a pretty tough bite with all the pressure on the lake the past few weeks.

Topping the 40 boat field was the team of Larry Locatis and Austin Rojas.  Larry and Austin brought in a limit weighing 20.26lbs which was anchored by the days largest bass.  A 8.34lb largemouth caught by Austin on a jig within the first 30 minutes of the morning.  The local team took home a total of $1,850 which consisted of $1,600 for first, $200 for big fish, and $50 from Anderson Toyota for having the Anderson Toyota/WWBS contingency sticker on their tow vehicle.

Taking home second place and $1,100 was the husband and wife team of Ted and Louise Stewner from Canada.  Ted and Louise put their smallmouth knowledge to use bringing in 19.76lbs of all smallmouth.

Rounding out the top 3 was the team of Matt Williams and Ryan Wiita.  Ryan and Matt brought in a limit weighing 18.76lbs earning them $780 which included the days 2nd place big fish.  The 5.90lb largemouth brought their total winnings to $880.

The Pro-Tech Mats traveler award went to the 10th place team of Dave Mehalechko and Jamie Bialik.

The SPRO pack for the smallest 5 fish limit went to the team of Jeff and David Meeks for a limit weighing 10.99lbs.

Fallon Marine was our Families Raising Hope Sponsor. Fallon Marine will be donating $410.62 to Families Raising Hope.

This circuit would not be made possible without our wonderful sponsors. Jason Anderson and Jared Lohrman at Anderson Toyota have been WWBS supporters from day 1 and continue to support the fishing industry. If you are ever in the market for a new or used car or truck give Anderson Toyota a shot. Jet Renu has come on board this year as the official cleaning products for JML Outdoors. Watch our online store soon for the only bass boat pack available on the market. This packet is specifically put together for fisherman. SPRO is back for the 3rd year in a row giving away a tackle pack to the smallest five fish limit without any penalties. Randy and Darlene Ernst continue with the Pro-Tech Mats travelers award giving $100 to the highest finishing team not already in the money at our Havasu Region events. Andrew Napoleon and his crew with A&M Graphics did our new wrap design this year. If you are looking for advertising for your business a vehicle wrap is the way to go and no one does it better than A&M.

The next event for the Lake Havasu region is March 25, 2017.  Early registration will take place at Anderson Toyota on Friday March 24, 2017 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm
