First Bass of the Year

Post by ttb31183 »

It's been a long winter and finally there has been a bass in my boat in 2017. The bad news is I didn't catch it, my wife did.

We went out yesterday to Liberty Lake which is close to my house and spent three hours trying out some new gear. The brown trout were really biting and we caught six nice ones in the last hour of the day. I had a trout on and my wife caught her bass. We were catching them on the Ima Flit 120 jerkbaits in 7 feet of water. Water was between 41-42, so it still has some time to go to warm up.

I also spent some time graphing and mapping with Navionics SonarChart Live. As you can see on my Lowrance screen here there isn't much detail right now since the lake is really small. Adding some more contours should help.

Hopefully next time I can catch my first bass of the year.
