Ripping reel

Post by Big Stick 74 »

I am looking for a new reel to use for ripping. Any and all recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks! My definition of ripping is using it for Jerkbaits like the LC pointer 100. Thanks again!

Curado 70 is an awesome rip bait reel, and it's a tank! Dan

Take a good luck at the new Daiwa Tatula SV series. The SV spool is designed to help cast lighter baiter baits further. You can cast a jerk bait a mile with this reel. I use the 8.1:1 speed for ripping. Check out the link...

I used that Tatula for throwing spooks all day at shasta and squarebills - this thing launches baits and I had very few backlashes casting into the wind. I dont have the new curado 70 but the HMG 202 and it is light and casts great. I enjoy ripping and can see both that 70 and tatula as being a great reel paired up on a ripping rod. I'm still throwing em on the Bantam 200sf

I just got a new 9.3:1. Great for setting the hook on those frog fish!

All I need to get into the money would be the four I usually get along with a 20# kicker.
