Mercury Marine donates to Hurricane Harvey efforts

FOND DU LAC (WLUK) -- As flood levels in Texas reach all time highs, boats are critical in the rescue efforts.
"We're a leader in this industry, so we're just trying to provide our expertise where we can," said Mercury Marine's Vice-President of Human Resources, Andres Gonzalez.

He says after seeing the devastation, the company knew it had to act, "It was just the right thing to do."
Since relief efforts began, Mercury Marine has sent numerous amounts of equipment, including engines, inflatable boats, as well as life jackets.

"What we're doing is really focusing on the equipment that can be used for rescue efforts there going on right now," Gonzalez further explained.

And their work isn't done.
The company has also been working with organizations like Boots on the Ground, a non-profit which provides emergency medical care.
