Ticking sound
Ok here's a weird one.. when motor off and fishing I hear rear transducer ticking (pinging I assume) that's new? Using the 3D module transducer .. why do I hear the tick noise now? Just started been running transducer for roughly 6 months.. thanks
Re: Ticking sound
It is (or should be) ticking all the time when sonar is on. You will hear it more now that you are aware.

Re: Ticking sound
Edd is correct. Every transducer while in operation will have a distinct ticking sound from the crystal inside the ducer emitting the sound that will bounce off something in the water and returning to the receiver in the ducer to produce the picture you see on the screen. Some are just more audible than others. Don't worry about the sound, it is normal.
