WA Proposal to Remove Bass Limits

Post by ttb31183 »

Over the past few months, there has been an uproar among bass anglers as the WDFW had a proposal to remove limits on all bass, walleye and catfish on all river and streams in the state. This is already the case on the Columbia River, but it seemed to most bass anglers that they were inching toward a statewide assault on bass.

But, there is good news. They have removed the proposal after public meetings across the state and hearings.

Originally, they said this was all to simplify the rules. This sounds like a good idea as their rule pamphlet is very confusing with so many different exceptions for different waters, but bass anglers took notice of the removal of limits on bass statewide and took action.

Here is the post from the Washington Bass Federation which had a huge role in organizing clubs across the state and helping throughout the process.
