Clear Lake Tackle Shops

Post by redPHish »

Where is the best place to buy tackle around the lake. Swimbaits, worms, etc?

I hit Limit Out in Clear Lake Oaks if I'm in the south and Limit Out in Lakeport if I'm in the north. Both offer great advice and have what I need.

Tackle It in Lakeport, the owner will take care of you he is a great guy. They don't gouge the fishermen with their prices, and he will spend as much time with you as you need to make sure you catch fish.

Limit Out in the Oaks, little store with lots of the latest tackle from the most popular manufactures. Shared information and supports bass clubs. Bob Higgins, the owner, has a wealth of information on Clear Lake and a nice and friendly too as is his better half Dorothy.

Easy Tackle It, I was in there last weekend I saw the owner helping this little boy about 7, put new line on his rod, rigged him up with a drop shot set up and showed him how to use it. He took the time with a shop full of people to help him, we all smiled and were amazed at how he makes everyone feel important. You should of seen the little boy's face.

If your anywhere around Clear Lake Oaks, you have to stop by Limit Out. Good Guy, Good Prices, Good Selection. Not to mention there is always the chance of catching a few tips by one of the lakes locals in BS'ing with Bob.
Don't ask about my username, all I need to say is check yours and check them often.

The other year when i fished a TOC at clearlake we went to all the bait shops around the lake looking for a particular bait , everyone was sold out when we stopped by Limit out Bob was home sick , we asked his wife about the baits . She said they didnt have any at the store but would call Bob at home and have him check his own personal tackle to get us the baits we needed !!!
How can you beat service like that ? Great place to shop and and get some honest answers about how the bite is going on the lake.

Hey RedPhish - you'll want to hit Clear Lake Outdoors on Main street (south end) in lakeport - as well. It's worth a trip there just to check out the swimbait room. Also, Bob at Limit out is always great... and worth the trip to the south.

Glad to hear you stopped by Tackle It, they are great people over there. I was just in there and they had some Basstrix for sale at the original price so if you are looking for that bait stop by and pick some up, they are hard to get for that price.

My only encounter with shops around Clear Lake has been with Clear Lake Outdoors. Getting ready for this year's Rally I found I needed a few things. Being cheap, gas wise, and lazy I called CLO and explained the situation. Tony had everything I needed, put it in a box and held it for me til I got there for the Rally. Once there I asked about a couple more items. I was escorted to the right place and pointed to what I needed.

I'm sure other shops around CL offer that same kind of service, and that's why we should support them. Sure, you can save a few bucks online, but there's nothing like being in the store and getting that personalized service.
