Two questions I could use some help on trolling motors:
1. How often do you guys remove the prop to check for fishing line and stuff? Mine (Minnkota) has a nut with a plastic insert that probably doesn't do well with repeated removals. Or is there a need to do it at all? If you do inspect, do you change the nut every time?
2. I bought a replacement prop as I heard you should have one handy. How often have you or ever had a broken one?
Thanks for any help,
Morgan

Re: Trolling Motor Prop ?
Morgan, the nut with a plastic insert is a nylock nut; this nut is design to lock the nut in place. It will not wear out. As far as removing the prop to check for line, if you see some line sticking out, then remove the prop and clean it out. But (depending on how often you fish) I would check for line every two to three month.
