How to remove a bottom cover off an older Motorguide?

I need to remove and replace a broken bottom cover off a Motorguide F62V. I disconnect the wiring and now can't get the bottom cover off. What are the procedures on how to remove the bottom cover from the shaft. Any help will be appreiciated..
