Rest in peace Lawrence Lee - Smilee

Lawrence Lee passed away this morning after a long battle with some serious health issues. I don't think he was as active on this board recently, but many of you will remember one of the original Nutcases, Smilee. Lawrence was a great guy. He had an awesome outlook on life after battling and recovering from cancer years ago. Unfortunately, the health problems returned, and Lawrence had been fighting for some time until this morning. Lawrence is in a far better place now.

I will always remember Lawrence as an amazing man with a big heart and a giant smile. He was a mentor for me, and I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to know him. The many hours we spent together on the water or traveling to tournaments will be missed, but I am a better person for it. Thank you Lawrence. You will be missed.

Sorry to hear that news Peter but thanks for letting Lawrence's friends here know. He was a great guy and you are right he always had such a huge smile..........

Wow, what sad news. Rest in peace, Lawrence--it was always a pleasure talking and fishing with you at the Bassholes events. Condolences to the Lee family...

Oh man, this is a tough one, thanks for the update Peter. Smiley was one of the good guys, always full of enthusiasm and just loved the sport of bass fishing. He too was one of the original members of NCBF that assisted us in putting together the PC.O.Pro-Teen event. Rest I peace my friend and many blessings and prayers go out to the Lee Family.

Boy I am really sad to hear this. Lawrence always stood out as the guy that was
having the most fun. Early mornings, bad weather and tough bites would have many
straight faced anglers at the dock. Lawrence would be laughing and having a great
time. His positive attitude was contagious. Rest in Peace Smilee.

Wow..I just hate loggin onto sites like this and see where a fellow friends and fishermen has pasted, so sad to hear things like this. Smilee was always geat guy.. Rest In Peace buddy..

I remember Smilee from NCBF days. Always seemed to be a positive poster. RIP.

Larwnece was a solid person and fun to be around. New him from Flextronics and the early days of drop shotting in Italian slough in the fog.

I only knew Lawrence through some social activities and didn't realize he was such an avid fisherman and yes, his disposition always seem to be positive and smiling. I had forward your responses to the family so they too could share the experiences you had with him. They really appreciate your warm comments about him.
