Major League Fishing Style Derbies?

The MLF is marketing their live ScoreTracker system to bass clubs and other fishing organizations. New twist to an old tried-true way of derbies. Will it keep the lake permit police off orgs backs? True catch, measure and release for a small online fee? Pros? Cons? Cell reception issues? What do you think? Would your club use this approach?

its says you have to have good digital cell phone coverage......so that leaves maybe only the Delta as a venue.

there are a few So Calif lakes where this format will succeed. Not all are surrounded by mountains and ravines.

So how do you come up with enough scorekeepers? Would they just use the honor system and let anglers keep their own score? Would be a blast to fish this format but not sure how it would work for us amatuers.

Well, for clubs and orgs, it could used for a Co and Pro entry. Each would have their own tracking system and then would verify each others fish weights and size. Of course all scales have to be the same.
