Steelhead have been called the ultimate game fish. These elusive and challenging fish can test an angler's patience and persistence, but the reward is hooking into a fish that is famous worldwide for its line-peeling runs and spectacular, acrobatic fight.

Join the Association of North West Steelheaders, Sandy River Chapter and ODFW and learn how to fish for this amazing species. You will learn where to find them and what you need to catch them. This includes knot tying, rigging, and casting, as well as reading the water and water safety.

This clinic will focus on shore fishing with the three most popular shore fishing methods- Plunking, Drift Fishing and Bobbers with Jigs.

We'll show you the best method of releasing a fish and how to quickly identify native fish. And we'll send you home with a couple of great recipes to prepare the ones you keep in the future.

Your workshop fee includes: instruction, use of ODFW equipment and program materials. We will have rods and end tackle for your use, if you wish to bring your own rod, please do so. A picnic style hot dog lunch is provided, cooked by members of the Sandy River Chapter.
