The Spokane Bass Club wrapped up their season at Long Lake, just outside of Spokane. The fishing was great despite the extremly cold temperatures and rainy conditions. Below is a recap from the event.
Our 2014 season has ended and the final event was a good one with many great smallmouth brought to the scales at Long Lake. This event was much better than our 2013 season finale, as there was just one limit last year. Steve Krestian took the win, like he did at the November 2013 event.
1st Place - Steve Krestian 5 fish for 14.41lbs
Steve caught his fish by using a dropshot and also dragging soft plastics. His bag included a 4.43lb smallmouth and he took home $360 for his win.
2nd Place - Shawn Bongers 5 fish for 13.78lbs
Shawn said he caught over ten keepers by fishing a carolina-rig, football head and also a swimbait. He said he fished many spotss throughout the day on his way to his second straight 2nd place finish. He took home $216 for his finish.
3rd Place - Tanya Tyler 5 fish for 13.74lbs
Tanya brought three rods and all three were rigged with dropshots. She spent all day with the technique and used a variety of different baits. She was able to catch 8 to 10 keepers throughout the day and brought home a check for $144.
Nik Autrey caught the day's biggest bass, a 6.75 largemouth he caught on a lipless crankbait. He won $120 for his big bass.
