Never hit the water with out it!

Post by TravisH »

Besides Rods & Tackle, what are a couple items you never hit the water with out? For instants I can not leave the Launch ramp with out my Eye Surrender sunglasses and my Navionics mapping card...

Great answers guys! Hey there ripslips2, Havasu went well.. I finished 30th out of the 152boat field. Im definitely liking the new Ranger! The amount of room to fish from and the storage space is awesome.

Drug box, Aleve, imodem, migraine head ache medicine, heart burn, and bandages also sunscreen and chap-stick and of course Toilet paper.
Also have a change of clothes in the boat, never know when you might get to go for an unwanted swim.
Sunglasses and a spare cap

ok , so I agree on the diaper wipes ----nice and clean if really needed .
Here is one that EVERBODY should have on a boat .
Benadryl --- , never know when an allergic reaction can happen . Especially if you might be allergic to bee stings and/or wasp's .
I don't know how many times I have had a "swarm" of bee's in early spring out looking for a new hive .
When my son was about 10 months old , he almost died from anaphylactic shock from a food allergy , once the doctors consulted with us , his advice was everybody on the planet should have Benadryl immediately available in case of emergencies .

Amen to Benadryl, don't leave home without it. Used bug repellant with deet that a friend gave me, 15 minutes later arms and legs welted up and started to swell, 6 Benadryl later every thing was OK. NO more deet. Making sure you have all these extra items can save your day.

Thank you for sharing that Robb R! That never crossed my mind.. I will definitely be adding a bottle of Benadryl to my first aid box in my boat.

Travis ,
couple of additional comments . If you happen to have to use Benadryl , remember that lots of people get really tired after using it , especially if it's first time . Just mention it in case you have a long drive after using some .
Lastly , if you know people that have real life threating allergies , some carry an Epipen . With my sons allergies being really severe when he was young , I had to buy at least 4 or 5 every year and carry them everywhere he went , even when he played college baseball he had to carry one .

More warm clothing/gore tex then you need no matter what the weather. The meds is a must, I almost always start the day fishing with some sort of hang over! :D Food, water, glasses, hat, Coffee!! Sunblock, chap stick.

And the MOST important thing..

BRING some common sense, water is one of the most powerful things on earth!
