Who is WAFT? a Premium Fishing Rod Manufacturer in South Africa for the last 30 years, we cater for the extreme and pressured conditions in this country. WAFT Performance products mainly catered for the domestic and the OEM Market, covering some major Japanese brands specializing in Saltwater, Carp and Bass.
WAFT Development Products have recently set up a new advanced manufacturing facility in Japan, to service domestic and international markets.

WAFT Development Products have invested in high-tech, previously unheard of state of the art technology in rod manufacturing, this enables us to produce rods that are more advanced than any other in the world at a similar price point.

WAFT strives, through progressive innovative strategies to continually evolve and research further technological advancements to ensure the finest products available to the consumer.
Special attention is paid to each individual rod build quality. The fit, finish as well as lightweight responsive actions. From the butt to the tip superior quality parts have been engineered and analyzed to provide the best possible rod assembly components.

A big advantage to the WAFT development and engineering team is the fact that besides being qualified and recognized in their respective fields, they are skilled and experienced anglers as well, understanding the needs and requirements of an evolving market and the customers.
Over three decades all technology on WAFT rods has been researched and developed in house, always incorporating the latest most advanced raw materials and manufacturing techniques, to produce precision, application specific products of the highest quality.

WAFT has furthermore implemented an advanced management system to regulate quality control in each aspect of the production. Stringent quality controls are implemented at each stage from raw materials and blanks, which are stress tested individually before being passed on to the build production. Quality controls here concentrate on component placement and finish, to ensure that the aesthetics of the rods match the superior components.
