Trailer brakes seem to be partially engaged when backing up. I could still get the boat in the water, but definitely a lot of resistance. Could it be the solenoid(spelling?)?
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Trailer brake problem.
Same thing happened to me a while back, except I wasn't able to back up without skidding my trucks tires! It ended up being a short in the trailer. I'd try replacing the connector between your truck and trailer first though. It's cheap and will sometimes fix the problem.

Question...do you have a 4 connector or five connector plug?
If it's 4 then there should not be a solenoid connected. A key is used to keep the master cylinder from engaging when backing. If the plug is a 5 pin then the 5th wire connects to your reverse lite which operates the solenoid that disengages the Master cylinder when backing. If this is the case I'd check the plug and also check your reverse lights on you vehicle....If they don't work your solenoid won't either. Good Luck.
