trolling motor interferance

Postby edsterone » Sat Feb 25, 2017 1:23 pm

I have a HB 1158c mounted on the bow of my Ranger Z20. The transducer is external mounted on the bottom of Minn Kota Fortrex TM with a transducer shield and saver. The unit is powered direct to starting battery as well as the helix 10 that is on my console. when I'm on the trolling motor i get a lot of interference on my screen. i did notice however that when i have the TM on full blast i get less interference. Any suggestions?

Had similar issue on boat for years, found bad transducer, check real close at the cable entering the transducer, small crack in cable at transducer grommet where water got in on mine. Not saying it is problem but something to check. Don't break it while checking it :-) I also would get noise spikes every second or so
