Chevy Truck Electric Window fix

I have a 2003 Silverado and lately I had noticed that the window was dragging and sometimes it wouldn't go up or down at all. So I dismantled the door panel and took out the electronic control module. I did a repair on the circuitry that I used to do to old computers to make the connectors work again. So here is what you do to fix this problem. First, you should be a person that can take stuff apart and put it back together again. Second, you will need a new clean pencil eraser.
Go onto Youtube or Google and type in your year and make of truck and the words door panel removal. You will find these videos that guys make showing how to do it.
Once you have the door panel off and removed the control module, set it on a good workbench. Pry the top section from the bottom section and you will see a
control board sitting on another board. Don't worry, all of this can go back together only one way. On the under side of the switches you will see a rubber cover with little metal rings in them. These are the contacts for the control board. Take a little distilled alcohol and clean the bottom of each of these little rubber bumpers. Set that part aside. Now look at the control board where the rubber bumpers make contact. You will see gold "runways" going all over the place. Under where the rubber bumper sits is a little area about a 1/4" in size that has the runway making a circlular pattern. This is where it contacts the bumper.
Take your new eraser, and run it lightly over a piece of fine grit sandpaper or an emery board to rough it up a little and to remove any grime. Then rub the eraser
over those runway circular areas and slightly out onto each runway. Rub on it until it looks shiny and new. Then clean the gold connectors on the control board where the wiring connectors for the clips go.
Once you have this done, just put everything back together. Remember that the door panel slides down onto those plastic pieces, not into the door panel as the old cars used to. You should see a real improvement in the action of the door. And, you saved about $400 in repairs.
