I live on Sandmound Slough.
Every Oct. and Nov., a dozen turkeys roost in the big trees next door to me, and make a mess of my patio deck.
Then, in Dec., they disappear.
Where do they go?

I wish! It's illegal to shoot them in the City limits.
One actually died when it hit the power lines one morning. Blacked out the whole street for several hours.

Do they move more inland to winter over?

When i used to live on B.I. i would see them fly across Bethel Island rd once in a while, heading towards Oakley ,Jersey island direction.
Ca dfw made it legal to shoot turkeys in rural areas with a pellet gun long as you have the license and upland tag and in season

Season opens in November for the fall season :). By the way, not sure if you remember but I bought a few Powell rods off of you out here in Tracy.
