OK Guys I received a very sad phone call from lake county official Mark Miller at 11:45 am. That We WILL NOT be allowed to exceed the 5 mph on Saturday, That his office nor does the Sheriff Have the authority To Remove the 5 mph speed limit from the lake. Even after I was told the lake level of 7.9 the speed limit would be lifted. Mark Stated that they have found a document that states The Board of Directors are the only ones that can remove the restriction. They have declared this an emergency order So can not be lifted until after the Board meets on Tuesday FEBRUARY 7th 2017. In my opinion From knowing the history around the lake and many years of fishing it, This decision of an Emergency was very irresponsible and with out thought of the business's around the lake. Sorry Guys I am venting I have worked very hard to make this Tournament happen and now I have to eat Crow because of their Decision. I am working on a replacement date and will post it soon. I am truly very sorry guys I know ya All are anxious to get out and Fish Clear Lake. This was shaping up to be very nice turn out. So PLEASE Send your wishes and concerns to LAKE CO. Supervisors.
Thanks Fred

I encourage all that have an interest in fishing clear lake to attend the meeting on Tuesday, And in my Defense was I told by an official of lake to proceed with the event, Until another higher UP said NO!!!!! Then a so called Memo was produced That said the Board is the only Authority That was able to lift the 5mph on the lake. With that said I have spoke with numerous Fishermen that have been on the lake and I will not let out names But very well known in the county and NOOO BODY is adhering to this . The lake has been at much higher levels in the past with no restrictions, and Tournament fishermen understand this better than any one around the lake. If you would like to doubt Me check the History levels for 2011 and see for yourself. I do plan to attend the Meeting on Tuesday February 7th. This ban on boating has cost the Businesses around the lake a lot revenue Not mention the taxes for the county. People that make a living on this lake to have a lot of consideration BEFORE MAKING DECISIONS THAT EFFECT THERE LIVELY HOODS. And one more thing in my rant as far a debris in the lake it is no different than any other Year It is the responsibility of every boater no matter what time of the Season to look for DERBIES OR ANY OTHER HAZARDS IN THE WATER, Boats have no breaks that is why we have eyes and a spotter in the vessel. SEE YA ALL ON TUESDAY FEB 7 TH.
