28 teams rolled into the Marina Café for the 2nd event on the RTF tournament trail. Backed up with 30 fishing teams at our season opener this brings our season total after two events to 58 teams which is a record high. Anglers were notified at the pre-tournament meeting that Anglers Marine the west's #1 bass boat dealership is firmly on board as a sponsor of the RTF Tour for 2017 and with that anglers took to battle at Southern California's famous Lake Casitas. Keith Covey and Marc Mitrany put together a five bass limit at 20.64 pounds to capture the victory and $1,900.00 in cash. RTF regulars Marvin Barellano and Jesse Hernandez dropped a 5 bass sack weighing 20.21 pounds to collect $1,910.00 in cash for their second place finish. Veterans John Kayaran and Fred Klinshaw did not find it easy but the veterans beared down to put together 5 bass at 17.55 pounds and collected $1,010.00 in cash for their days work. Casitas regulars Joe Anguiano and James Lopez captured 16.83 pounds and collected $210 in cash for their fourth place finish. In fifth place were the winners of our last event Billy and Bobby Nelson as they put together a 16.45 pound bag of fish and took a one point lead in the 2017 RTF Angler of the Year standings and collected $200 in cash. Casitas veterans Paul Ramsey and Matt Lindsey slid a 16.37 pound limit of fish on the scales to collect $200 in cash. In seventh place and once again in the top 10 was the team Kent Simmons and Jeff Dunn with 15.90 pounds as they collected $160 for their days work. And rounding out the money list in eighth place was Pat Ammerman and Joe McAllister with 15.80 pounds as they walked away with $160 for their effort. The next stop on the RTF Bass tour is February 25, 2017. Anglers that would like information on our next tournament can call or text tournament director Rich Tauber at 818-439-1154.

Wow, sounds like a great tourney with some heavy bags! Thanks for the post, Rich. Those tails don't look too chewed up - guessing those are mostly pre-spawn fish? Looking forward to seeing you in March, and good to know you're on WesternBass so I can keep an eye out for your posts in the future.
