So I decided this was. I miss Rick Hoover day. Was out today and realized some of my best fishing days were with him. Had some good times and caught some great fish. From the Delta to Pedro to Clear Lake . I learned a lot from that guy.

and since I'm sitting around waiting for Irma to blow my house away. Thought I would post it here.

I think we are safe but I'm not sure if my fish are safe. I am fishing a tournament the weekend after Irma goes thru, am hoping it doesn't mess-up my fish. I'll be pre fishing next Friday to make sure my fish are still there. This will be my first hurricane to fish after, not sure how it affects the fishing.

Dan great job on those reels I sent you. I'll have another batch to send out after Oct 1.

Great post Rod! I think your friend was pretty darn successful at what he did. This is the greatest thing about fishing, the memories it provides :) RR

Stay safe. Irma is a bigger storm then anything in recent history, don't fool around and Jose is on her heels.
Having lost 7 of my fishing buddies the past few years changes how you look at fishing, it's just another day on the water to be thankful for, no reason to take chances.

Rod,
I'll be thinking of you, and hoping the eye moves east of you a good distance.
Do take care.

Well you did a good job on your hoping. Irma did move about 20 miles east before coming over us.
Max wind gusts at 115 per weather channel.com. We were very fortunate , we had little damage from Irma. Power is out and Maybe will be back on by Friday night midnight. We hope.

Bad news was I had a tournament this Saturday . It was canceled due to power outages
