HITOMI AND USHIJIMA WIN Pasote Tequila & Berryessa Bass Tournaments 3/4/18

35 Teams braved the cold and fished the Fifth event of the Pasote Tequila & Berryessa Bass Tournaments Circuit for the 2017-2018 Season that was on March 4, 2018 and hosted out of Markley Cove. Points & Weight are valuable for making TOC and AOY! We had a clear & safe blast off with four flights, including 4 youth teams! The morning was foggy and cold on the lake, the moon was just past full, and the fish were suspended! Felt like a real Winter day. The lake is still fishing really well if you slow down. In the Youth Division, First Place with 14.83lbs went to Dario Fernandes & Gavin Cohen. In Second Place, Roy Desmangles lll weighed a sack of 11.52lbs. In Third Place, Joe & Jack Mariani weighed in 9.11lbs in their bag. The large mouth got a little tricky after the cold storm passed through. They seemed to have suspended from the drop in water temperature. Most teams had reported that they had a tough day again, and the weights showed it. Water temps dropped into the 52 degree range with the water still fairly clear! Teams reported catching their fish on Reaction baits, Shaky head, Jigs, and a few on the A-rig. Most teams are still fishing in the main lake and narrows! First Place went to Mike Hitomi & Todd Ushijima with a nice sack that weighed 18.90lbs and was anchored with a 5.93lb kicker for 2nd Place Big Fish. Second Place went to Chris Franks & Doug Wilhelm who brought in a sack that weighed 18.18lbs and with a 4.93lb kicker. Third Place went to Steve Ikeda & Vernon Nodohara with a 4.12 kicker that anchored a sack that weighed 16.15lbs. With a Fourth Place finish, Young Guns Dario Fernandes & Gavin Cohen weighed in 14.83lbs. and had a 4.97lb kicker (Youth team in the Money!!!). In Fifth Place, a sack of 14.74lbs was weighed in by John Bounds & Preston Henson. Sixth Place went to Mark Mariani & Joe Bullock with a sack of 14.35lbs. Seventh Place went to Greg Pryor & Dave Vaughn with 14.23lbs and a 6.05lb 1st Place Big Fish (less 4+ ounces of trout that got spat out!). Will Wyman & Larry Hutton weighed in 14.02lbs for Eighth Place. This is the third tournament in a row that one of our ‘Young Guns’ youth team has been in the money! Keep it up!
