WAKE BOAT WARS.......WHERE DOES IT END?????

I rarely post any negative thoughts or comments about boaters, because I know that there are good/bad bass boaters and good/bad wake boaters. After today, I can't hold my tongue any longer. After fishing one of my favorite bodies of water for about 4 hours this morning, I start to head back to the launch. Some guy in a wake board boat flags me down and asks me if I owned a blue Tahoe. I said yes. He said there was a wake board boat club threatening to have my vehicle towed because I was less than a foot out of the designated parking marks. I was in no way blocking anyone's ability to enter or exit. As a matter of fact, I was the first bass boat on at 6:30 this morning. So it is beyond me how someone could have the cajones to do ALL of the following to my personal property:

1. Leave me a note on my window saying, "Nice parking job! Hope you don't catch any fish!"
2. Put rocks on the top of all of my vehicle tires.
3. Pull out the ENTIRE 20' length of the winch strap and tie it into a KNOT to the rear of the trailer.
4. Pull out BOTH boat buckle straps and tie them into KNOTS around the rear of the boat trailer.

This is the "teenage mentality" of a certain wake board boat club that I had to deal with today. Yeah, real mature guys and gals. This is what I want my three-year old daughter to see when we come back in from an early Sunday morning fishing trip. I'm really surprised they didn't slash my tires. I'm guessing that is what they were thinking, but I did see a sign that said, "This area is under surveillance camera", which may have made them think twice. Nah, I really don't believe that would have stopped them. This is the absolute lowest action I have ever experienced by another boater or boat club in my twenty + years of Bass fishing. Do they think they own the lake or what? I did have a conversation with the Park manager and he said he thought he knew who did it and that it was "unacceptable behavior". I would never dream of violating anyone's personal property like this over such a trivial parking issue. If the Park Ranger would have seen my rig and thought I was out of line, I believe it would be his responsibility to give me a parking ticket. Who are these pranksters? Am I getting old or what? I understand that the younger generation of wake boaters is bad, but for me, this one takes the cake. Guess I need to check out 5MPH Folsom more often and pray for cold weather to shut these guys down for a while.

Comments are welcomed. Have at it....Sorry guys, just venting.

I have said it before, this old world is going downhill fast. I think I would send a letter to the Club, for reading at their next meeting, thanking them for their childish conduct. It MIGHT, I say might make them think. Bill K :(

Good lord !!!! You mean to tell me that with all that energy, they could have not just pushed your trailer up or back the offending foot of two that they thought it was in the way ? Or if the truck was attached, Was the entire parking lot full and yours was blocking the last remaining parking spot ?

Instead they show you and everyone else the true emotional maturity that makes up the majority (not all) of a lot of people who have forgot or never were taught in the first place, civility and manners. Should not be any surprise why there is so much road rage and plane old meanness today. :( :?

One thing I have wondered alot after these last two years on the water ..... To this day I have never seen a skier/wakeboarder/tuber inside Mildred Island.

Anyone have any clue as to why ? -- Even when it is not windy at all ..... Instead they seem to rather risk life and limb to be with the masses playing roullette with some very inexperinced drivers and huge wakes.

Sorry that crap happened to you Drrakruz.

I've seen rigs parked where two stalls are taken up, but to have your rig vandalized because it is less than a foot within boundary is beyond belief.

I've been ridiculed on many occasions because I walk around my rig several times to ensure I've parked within the white stall markings, which is tough to determine at Redbud Park at Clear Lake!

Even then, I've still been vandalized for no apparent reason.

You should check up on that camera coverage.

Bill,

That's a good idea about sending a letter to the club. I will have to check next time with the Park manager to see which club it was.

Guy, you're right too. The trailer was attached to the vehicle, and was blocking absolutely nothing. And yes, that was one of my first thoughts as well; just pick up the rear of the trailer and move it over if they had so much energy to begin with. Heck, they already had their hands all over the trailer anyway! Complete disregard for boat etiquitte and manners, not to mention personal property. I am thankful for the way I was raised. I feel sorry for the kind of people who would do crazy things like these just to make their mark.

Oh not the defender of idiots again. I was raised in Texas where you don't touch a mans personal property period. Wake boarders like to travel in drunkin' packs while fisherman are usually solitary or with one freind or family member. I don't have a problem packin it is called concealled carry permit and it is leagal in the state of California. One idiot got his freinds in a uproar over someones parking job. Notify the ranger if you are so woried about it. To violate someones property is childish and deserves an asswoopin period end of story. I can see where this is going and it is not pretty. Anyone remember the Stockton launch thread. People are going to get hurt if they can't show each other simple respect. I was wake boarding and snowboarding in the very beginings of the sport before boats had towers or balast tanks. This is not about wake boarders to me it is about lack of respect for others. I would say the same if it was a girl scout troop "those little bi***es need an asswoopin'' Sorry for the rant I feel better now!

I agree, nobody should ever touch someone elses property. If there is a problem with the way he parked, talk to the ranger, don't touch the guys trailer.

Guys,

Things are getting weird here....Read the posts on the wakeworld link. I don't think most of the people are getting the point...the point is, keep your hands to yourself! I plan on making another post to the other site later on.

I think everybody on WakeWorld gets your post and agrees that nobody should have touched your property. But there are some rumbling in general about a-hole fisherman as well as tubers, boarders ect..... But when they come on WesternBass and see some fisherman say "Lock and Load" and other "Idiotic" type statements, thats not making fisherman look any better. I was the one who posted the link to here on WakeWorld. was hoping to find the guilty"wake club" even though I have never heard of one but..... Bottom line it goes both ways. Nobody should have touched your property. Not all fisherman are represented by "lock and Load" Just as all wakeboarders are not represented by someone messing with your property.

Was on the Delta Sunday and a guy on a single waterski kicked out a huge rooster tail and just missed soaking me and my buddy in his new Basscat, I know we would have chased him down and gave the guy heck but that would have been it. I read about a month or 2 ago on the Delta in a parking lot one guy bumped a guy and that guy went and got his truck and trailor and ran the other guy over in the parking lot. One guy is dead and one guy is in prison. 4 years ago at Lake Shasta I was ripped off for $900.00 of camping, fishing & tools, my brother parked next to me about $700.00. I don't think its going to get better so we better use our heads!!!, we should not be sissy's but we really need to think before we react. I have been in situations that in seconds things went way further than I wanted them to and more than I expected.

Now that is a smart and sensible fishermans statement. You make make proud to be a fisherman and a wakeboarder.

although it's convinient to come onto a forum and blame wakeboarders for all the issues on the lake, I think u'll find if u have the balls to actually confront them and talk to them, 9 times out of 10 they will be respectful towards your wishes... please try it before you diasagree with me u will be surprised and anyone who says "lock and load" is a coward who needs a gun to make them feel like a man, all i need are my fists and sometimes if there are more than 3 people a louisville slugger

The first sense i get of the guys that posted there is that they are just as much enthusiasts about their sport as we are about ours. These are probably the die hards that are out before memorial day and after labor day. I have only had a few issues with wake boarders and those times for me have been on Folsom in the summer - weekend warriors who dont know their throttle from their beer can.

I have personally had more near misses and issues with Bass Boats running between me and the bank or cutting me off going down a slough in the delta.

With that being said - DONT MESS with another mans rig. If something was damaged at all you could after the club as they should be insured. If not I would write a letter to the club and the sponsors they promote!
