I finally had a chance to do the swap and everything worked out well. I changed the drive gear (BNT 3977), pinion (BNT 3979) and yoke (BNT 3575).
The counter bore for the drag washers measured the same on both drive gears so there was no need to change the drag and key washers. Visually the yoke appears to be the same as well and might not need to be replaced when doing this conversion.
In the end I was happy with the results.
