Thanks for letting me join your site. I haven't fished in 30 plus years. Bought a boat late last fall. It came with a Lowrance HDS-7 insite Gen 2 with GPS ect. I will fish in the Midwest so probably less than 50 foot of water. I will fish for Crappie and Walleye. I have a few questions.

1) Recommendations for a fishfinder for the front of the boat under 200 bucks> Someone said i should link them together with an Ethernet cable, what is the advantage of that?

2) Recommendation for a sd card. Lake insight pro 16, Hotmaps, Platinum, Gold, Navionic, ect. Which one would be the best for a beginner with the equipment I have?

3) Lake insight pro 19 for the whole US is 99 bucks. Lake insight pro 16 for just the East coast or West coast os 150 buck? That make no sense to me?

Thanks much. See you on the water.

1) The units that allow networking will be more than your two hundred dollar price point. I would look at the "Hook" series for the front at that price point. Check out Tackle Warehouse for availability and pricing or your local Lowrance Dealer. You can go to You Tube and type in the name and model number of any unit you are considering and view the videos posted to learn about them. This may help with your decision.

2) + 3) As for which card may be best for you, I would advise you to go to a Lowrance Dealer like West Marine, Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas or similar store with an in store display. At this display, they can let you view each card so you can see for yourself which card will suit your needs.
