Transducer problem Elite 7Ti console

I have an Elite Ti 7 on my console with a total scan transducer mounted under my transom extension (Ranger). When I take off I lose the bottom how can I solve this?

If you mounted to the step, the TS is coming out of the water as you go faster and will not read the bottom. Air is your enemy.

I know why I have the problem but want to know if I have other options such as adding a thru hull transducer in the bilge area. How would I do that?

Mounting a thru-hull in the sweet spot will help, providing it is done correctly.

You can't connect them both easily. Not only that, the TS ducer is dominate so it will always be the 2D ducer when you have 2 connected. Not sure it could be done with one of the 'Y' cables from Lowrance, and not sure there is a XDCR switch to handle the Xsconic plug of the TS. I have not tried this, but what you have is POWER, NMEA, and Transducer connections so somewhat limited.
