997 C problems

Doug,
My 997 C graph has begun having problems.
When I turn it on, it sometimes doesn't acquire GPS signal until it's been on for quite a while, and it shuts itself off and restarts several times a day.
My GPS transponder is only a year old, and I did update the software last year.
Any ideas?
Mark

Power Supply direct to the battery? 14-16 gauge wire, soldered connections. Inadequate power supply can cause weird concerns

Mark, Check on problems that Doug described....if that's not it.....lets change that transponder. I believe I have one and you're welcome to it. Just let me know. I'm better at checking emails GaryD@Dobynsrods.com

Thanks guys.
Doug,
A club member said he had the same problem with his 999, and it was too much power, backfeeding through the wiring.
For me, I think it's probably too little. I have an Optima blue top as a cranking battery, and it's almost 10 years old. I'll swap it out with another battery and see if that's the problem.
Gary,
That is very generous of you.
If the battery swap doesn't work, I'll take you up on your offer.

Update: I switched batteries, and the unit stayed on all day.
Thanks for the help.
