The 3rds are victorious once again at NBW Pyramid!

Post by Brian Linehan »

Thank you to all of the 35 teams who competed today at Pyramid. The weather was chilly, windy, and a little damp. Also, a special thank you to the lake staff. They have to be the nicest and most accommodating lake staff I've ever worked with.

Congratulations to the All Star team of John Ed Wilder III and Jay Poore III for winning the National Bass West Pyramid Lake tournament today with 13.44 lbs. John Ed and Jay won $2,400 and said that they moved around to a bunch of spots all day with the dropshot, Robo's, and jig. Congrats to one my favorite teams out there!

Speaking of favorites, Dennis Taylor and Keith Andersen brought in 11.63 lbs good for $1,290. They caught their fish on Robo's and the jig. Great job Press Secretary!!!

Third place went to Pyramid head hunters Ron Thompson and Bob Fruge with 11.53 lbs. They also had the big fish of 3.98 lbs. Ron and Bob won $1,560!

The weighmaster and check in staff, Brendon Widdick and Kathy Hartman took fourth place and won $960.
You guys are fishing well...Keep it up!

Taking fifth place and $800 went to Dan Villanueva and Gary Jubilado with 10.81 lbs. Soon after the derby, they were heading to the NBW DVL event tomorrow. Best of luck guys!

Local favorites Jess Settem and Noah Cook took sixth place and won $320 and seventh went to another great team of Steve and Delynn Davies with $200.

Our prayers go out to Jim Witowski and his family. Although I'm not entirely sure of the outcome, Jim was rushed to the hospital and was in exteremely serious condition. Our prayers go out to you Jim and the generosity of the anglers was amazing. We had $680 cash to give away in the mystery option and it was a unanimous decision by the anglers to donate the money to Jim's family! Class act guys and I'm proud to be running these derbies for such an awesome group of guys!

Our next event is next month at Piru so start pre fishing!!!

Thanks guys!

Yes, unfortunately Jim Witowski suffered and heart attack at the event and I've learned that he's passed. Please include Jim's family in our prayers and thoughts at this time. Jim was a great guy, fisherman, and will be missed.

Life is short guys. Appreciate every minute!
