Report: Sorry folks I fished the bank near the creek intrence to the lake and got skunked. I saw a bunch of what I thought were bass caught in a pool before the lake in the creek but I threw everything I had at them and they did'nt go for nothing which makes me think either they were not feeding or they were not bass but I know a bass when I see one.Anyway.

    Water Temp: Not sure

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Just got back from Almaden. I kinda got lost, since this was my first time here, so I got as close to the weeds as possible. I think I had a pretty good outing, seeing as how I was only there for about 3 hours. I caught 4 bass that were probably between 2-4 pounds. I didn't have a scale, but the biggest one looked pretty fat. I caught 3 of the fish on senkos (watermelon), and I caught the other one right before I left on a spinnerbait. I caught the first two within about 30 min. of starting. I caught the big one about an hour later on a senko, then I was about to call it quits, but I stayed with it and caught one last one on a green and white skirted spinnerbait. It had beads, and 2 spoons. That's my report.

Tips: Find the Weed. Not Marajuana, Tules. The bass were moving within about 20 ft of the shore. I think they are just now starting their prespawn, so the males will bite often. Give it a couple of weeks, and the Huge Females will do the same. This was a very productive outing.

Report: Walked the shoreline between the rain showers. Used a Carolina-rigged lizard off the points and caught 2 bass. One was about a pound and the other was probably 3lbs. They were both deep and on the bottom. The water is getting cold and the fishing is getting tough.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Fish the points and rocky shorelines slowly with soft plastics.

Report: Fished for 1.5 hours this morning before work. Caught 2 long and skinny bass (both about 2 - 2 1/4 lbs.) cranking a speed trap and the other on a rogue jerkbait.

Saw a 5 pounder look at my senko. Missed a frog bite on my first cast. Nothing on tube, dropshot or rat'l trap.

    Water Temp: mid 60's

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fihed from 9:30-11am today and landed a small one to the left of the sandy area. Caught another one about 4 lbs. about 100 yards up from the fish ladder. Both were caught using 3" prism shad robos. If you plan to drop shot, fish slow and don't bump it too much. Finesse is key if you want them to hit. There are a lot of baitfish right now and the bass are feeding.
    City: San Jose

    Tips: Look for baitfish.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Back on the float tube w/ Jonny Blaze, and had a blast. Got 8LM biggest went 6lbs and smallest was 10inchs and it wieghed over a pound. Looks like the last group of spawners are up in the shallow flats the bigger ones are in post-spawn. Caught them on a drop shot, and dragging jigs. All were caught in less then 2ft of water all over the lake. Best success was way up in the creek.
    City: SAn Jose

Tips: Stay patiant and realy work your "confidence bait", I dont belive there is one bait better than the an other but color is a big factor here, black, reds and greens are by far the stand outs here. Also, drop down in line size. Good luck and better fishing.

Report: Fished today from about 9-11am. Pretty slow, saw a few fish hitting top water way out in the middle. I threw basically everything from topwater to senkos, nada. I did get a few 1.5lbers to chase a sluggo. I had a great time, seems like the bass are busting schools of fry.
    City: San Jose

Tips: fish are definitely out there, use a float tube if you got one.

Report: It was a great day yesterday and boy the fish are crazy right now. I caught huge numbers of bass over 4lbs. I was throwing bobbys perfect frogs and buzzbaits in the morning, they were blowing up on those lures like crazy. Then I threw 8" osprey swimbaits most of the day and landed 9.2 close to sunset. Senkos(NOTHING),dropshot(NOTHING). Fish are feeding so bring out the big guns........

Report: Float tubed around the lake for 8:30 am to noon and not a single bite. Used a drop shot w/ bungee worms, texas rigged power worms in various colors, and a couple of crank baits. There were 10-12 fisherman around the shoreline, a lot of fishing but no catching!

    Water Temp: 58-60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Arthur- I agree with you the consistency of huge fish seems to be a little off. However, I know there are big fish in this lake because I have witnessed them being caught. All of these larger fish (6 lbs & up) that I've either caught or seen caught have been super late- mostly around 1-3 am, and I'm not totally sure why. I've had some really luck the past few weeks, while it seems others are doing very well. Who knows..... but the line we use does probably have a lot to do with spooking the fish since this lake has so much pressure. I can count on one hand the amount of evenings I've fished the Coleman bridge and not had at least 3 other fisherman around me as well.

    Water Temp: low 60's

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished the entire lake today using only the drop shot method with 4" Robos. The clear patterns were the only thing working today. I landed a small one next to the pipe along Coleman Rd. Another small one on the Winfield side and a 4.5 pounder just a few feet down from that one. It was overcast for most of the time and I only got bit when the sun broke through for a few minutes. The small fish were very aggressive, but the big ones are much more subtle.

Report: It was a really great weekend at Almaden. The Bass were on. I caught all my fish on swimbaits. I caught 4 fish each day and all weighing over 7lbs. I'll put the pics up of all fish for this weekend in a few. Hope the bite stays on for next week.

Tips: I threw 6" persuaders swimbaits and fished it really slow then dropping it then, retrieve it again. When you feel a thump hang on....
