Report: Fished Bass Lake Mon-Wed last week and again on saturday aternoon. Took thursday and riday o to go snowboarding at Badger Pass in Yosemite National Park. Had a blast! Caught one spotted bass on monday on salt/pepper worm. Spent most o aternoon just checking out the lake as it was my irst time there. 5 spots each on tuesday and wednesday all on craw patterned at rap in 10-20 t o water cranking bait down to and hitting the submerged allen tree limbs and killing it would produce strikes. 1 largemouth bass on saturday on at rap. All ish between 2-3.5 lbs. and sturdy at. Also caught a ew crazy trout that hit the at rap. Saw 4 20-30lb catish hanging out in 10 eet o water by some boulders. Couldn't get them to bite. Great little lake, I will go back.I didn't have any problems like I've read below. But I don't think I'll return during the summer unless it's or a week long trip.steve

Report: Well, I thought I would take my son to bass lake or our irst time. I called ahead to the lake patrol to ask about any regulations they might have and i we could sleep on the boat. They told me no special reg's and sleeping was ok inside red buoys. It wasn't till we took the two-hr drive and launched the boat that I was told to register at the loating ranger station. No problem right? No BIG problem this lake only has yearly passes, no day pass availible, charged by hp. I have a merc 135 hp so my ee was $50.00. What a ri@&!! Rip o!! I could not belive I had to pay that amount just to ish one day on this stupid lake. There had to be over 300 boats and Jet Ski's, it was like trying to ish on Main Street. I would have paid less and had more solitude i I ished pirates o the carabbean at disneyland. Nice looing lake, lots o stu or kids but i you want to catch Bass, save $50 and ish Pine Flat

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out to Bass Lake on both Saturday and Sunday. On Sat., went with a riend who likes the cold water style o ishing. Caught a ton o Kokes, and noticed that the water was pretty warm and looked "bassy". Decided to go back on Sunday with my bass boat and give it a crack. First things were irst, I took my two and one hal year old son with me, so we had to catch a mess o bluegill (some were huge!) beore we could bass ish. Once the 'gillin was out o the way, I got some bass ishing in. Spots were biting hard and ast, with most o them coming rom about ten oot o water o secondary points and in deep creviced coves. Keeper 4" worm, in the Bass Lake colors (clear salt and pepper with short chartruce tail).
    City: Fresno

Tips: Keeper 4" worms in clear salt and pepper with bright chartruce tails. Shake 'em ast and the spots will hammer 'em.
