    Water Temp: 54

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: And friend and I hit Bullards last Fri for a few hours to see what was going on (if anything!) after the brutal cold front and a little snow. Well, there wasn't much going on. My buddy had several bites and landed 5, but none were over 13 inches. He was drop-shotting most of the time. I got one or two bites on swimbaits out of a hundred or so casts - but one was a 4 lb 11 oz spotted bass. She hit under the boat as I was about to bring the bait in. Usually we lose fish that hit under the boat, but when they "eat" the bait - no problem! She was about 35 feet deep.
    City: Yuba City

Tips: We covered a lot of water with the same results - almost nothing. Even the small fish were about 40 feet deep. Saw some good structure fish but couldn't get them to go.

Tips: Wait for the crowds to leave, then hit the main lake points.

Report: Best Spotted Bass Lake in Nor Cal!! Landed a 4LB Right off the bat (Kreepy Krawler. About ten minutes later landed a 3.5 LB. Fished with Wifey in the afternoon. Water is higher this year over last.
    City: W. Sac

Tips: Caught majority of our fish on green pumpkin lizards and Kreepy Crawlers. Graphs werent working don't know how deep approx 30-40ft. Big fish came off points small fish caught in coves. Still a lot of running water coming into lake no luck fishing it though. Most fish came off chunk rock vs. Clay bank. Zero reaction bite.

    Water Temp: 74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Had a great day on the water, but fish had a little lock jaw. I went out for four hours in the morning and only boated 7 fish. Fish were caught on tubes in 30' of water off main body points. Last week I was up at the lake and the bite was awesome cathing a 18lb bag. That day I was jigging a spoon on bait fish around 25-35' water. The boat traffic is crazy and no getting away from it. Mud lines where producing as well
    City: Yuba City

Tips: Deep main body points, natural color tubes, jigging spoons, mud lines all produced fish. Don't be afraid to hit main body points with lots of boat traffic as the fish still would bite.

    Water Temp: 71-74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I took a good friend of mine to Bullards today - helping him test some new baits. Sorry, I can't say much more that that. To say it was a boating zoo out there today would be an understatement, but I am happy for all the folks that can now enjoy boating with a taste of summer finally upon us!! We hooked a lot of bass but the catching was not real great. We did wind up with a limit around 17 lbs and I caught my first 4+ lb spot in awhile. We fished 5 or 6 areas that all produced some bites. We found willing bass at many different depths and as shallow as 7 or 8 feet.
    City: Yuba City

Tips: In addition to other techniques, we did try some rippin' which has been pretty good lately, but nothing today. I did hook a pretty good fish and a smaller one on brown/orange jigs, but lost both of them. Unlike Oroville, the overall water color is quite stained - visibility only about 2 or so feet. By the early afternoon - mudlines everywhere! The Dark Day parking area seemed to be full in the afternoon.

Report: Great fising trip with my 25 year old son today. 20-30 fish between us today. Several over 3 pounds with the biggest pushing 4, caught by son on a 6" Junebug lizard on a 1/16 ounce weighted hook. Downsized tubes also pulled out several nice sized fish.
    City: Reno

Tips: Remember to watch your line. You don't always feel the bite. If you feel anything, "Set the hook, and ask questions later".

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: What a great day! Fishing was pretty good all day with 7 keepers out of 20+ fish caught. All but one of the keepers came from submerged vegetation in the backs of coves on a 5" Senko in Baby Bass color. The big one of the bunch went 3.8lbs. The other from a small (2") flat sided shallow running crankbait pulled over vegetation. These two baits caught all fish boated today. Be cautious of all the debris in the water!
    City: Yuba City

Tips: Fish vegetation or timber in fairly shallow water (5-15ft). The Senko was fished slow while the crankbait was burned throught the water. I did not try deep structure so can't say anything about that.

Report: Had a great trip with two guy's on the lake. The biggest went 4 pounds. Some very nice fish all spotted bass except for one smallmouth. The wind and front blew in around noon and the bite just shut off for big fish. Carolina rig and 4 inch senkos were the baits of choice.
    City: Sacramento

Tips: Please catch and release as this lake will just keep getting better. 9 pounder caught off the docks by a young man using a drop shot rig.

    Water Temp: 59

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: On the water around 10 am and fished until 7 pm. 20+ fish but most were in the 13" range all spots.
I did pick up a 4.03, 3.4, 3.2 and a 3.1 all on jigs. I did pick up a few with a drop shot. I tried ripping with no success. This is a steep caynon type of lake with very little flat area. Most of the time you are 40 feet off the shore and you in 40+ feet of water. Tough fishery if you don't know how to fish the steeps.
    City: Roseville

Tips: enjoy the sights...saw at least 5 Bald Eagles.

Report: AJ, I like your comment about catch and release. All bass fisherman should practice this. Also, all bass fisherman should experience this lake, even "flatlanders". I do fish all the other lakes you mentioned. I'm sorry that this is on the report page but AJ's email isn't valid. See you friday!!!!

Tips: Ignore bitter people like AJ

    Water Temp: 58.5

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started the day of pretty slow With only a couple small ones on a tube and a shaky head. We finally figured out the bite and caught a total of 40 fish with the biggest 4.5 lbs on a ripbait. Threw a Swimbait for a few hours in the evening, hooked two nice ones on it but they spit it before i could get a look at them, typical swimbait fish!
    City: Flatlander City

Tips: Dont bother going in the backs of the creeks unless u want numbers. The bigger fish were on the main body on steep walls. Throw reaction and hold on... These fish smoke em! Always practice catch and release this is a great fishery, lets keep it that way.

Report: For anyone that loves the fight that a spotted bass gives then Bullards Bar is the spot. These fish are freaks of nature. This lake has numorous 3-5 pounders. I've been out there 4 times in the last month and everytime our best five was 20 plus. The cat is out of the bag. This lake is on fire. Crankbaits and jigs have been the bigger fish bait for us but plastics such as tubes and wacky rigging a 6 in worm has boated an occasional "freak of nature" too. The bass are in the backs of the coves now and if you can find them, hang on. I fish alot of different lakes and I can tell you, I have a new favorite lake. I love this place.
    City: Roseville

Tips: Crankbaits and jigs in a craw pattern have boated my bigger fish.

Report: If you have the chance to get out this is the place to be right now. The spots are big and fat and easy to catch. The junior Bass Club spent the day on this great water fishing for those big fat SPOTS. Most of the bass were found in the back of coves when you find the water falls. Using a darter head, worm and some time. They found big bags upto 16 plus pounds for five fish.Find the time right now and enjoy the day.
    City: Rocklin

Tips: fish slow and have plenty of darter heads

Report: Went up to Bullards Bar to check on the great spotted bass fishery. Never caught so many nice spotts in one day. The biggest went 4 pounds but most were 3 to 3.5. I would go back any time.
    City: Sacramento

Tips: Move around and look for running water coming into the lake. This is a very deep lake so fish slow to get your bait down.

    Water Temp: 49-51

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: On the water by 7:30 am. We got rained on for a good portion of the day, but that seemed to help the bite. First fish came a couple hundred yards from the launch on a single tail grub with a 1/4 ounce darter head. Buddy picked up a nice 3 lb spot a few minutes later on a green pumpkin tube. A few minutes after that I break off a nice spot right at the boat. The bite slowed down in the afternoon and the fish went a little deeper. I eventually found a few more spots dragging a football jig with a hula grub. Buddy stuck with the tube a found a few more throughout the day. No reaction bite at all. Tried ripping, blades, deep crank, but no takers. At the end of the day we fished a submerged road close to the launch and found a pocket of feeding fish. I picked up 4 spots almost back to back on the football jig. Buddy got a backlash and had to watch me catch the fish while the sun went down!! 12 total fish for the day with the best five going around 13 lbs.
    City: Sacramento

Tips: Fish slow with tubes or jigs. The fish aren't ready to chase reaction baits yet....very soon though. I was impressed at the quality of fish here. Good luck!

Report: Went out this morning with my daughter. Beautiful winter day but alas no fish. There was alot of boats out there hopefully they had more luck than we did. Got a couple of bites off a 6" pumpkin worm dragging the bottom in about 18 to 20 feet. But other than that just enjoyed the sunshine and spending time with my daughter. I know there's fish in there......I'll find em!

Report: Basslab I saw the eagles Sun. do the same thing. They locked up about 60 feet in the air and spiraled to about 5 feet from the water before breaking apart and flying away. Unbelievable and beautiful! We caught about 20 fish from sunup till about 1 pm. Mostly small with a 3.2 spot mixed in. Threw a little of everything and it all worked. Topwater,Senkos, ripbaits, darthead,ETC.
Fishing has been pretty good here lately. Hopefully guys will practice catch and release because I think this lake has potential to put out some great spots in the next couple years. I have caught numerous 3's and a few 4's this year. Of course all were released.
    City: YC

Tips: Water is very clear with less wakeboarders. Use light line.

    Water Temp: 65

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Was told the fish have finally grown up so decided to give it a shot and Fred was right! On my second cast of the morning I hooked one of the largest spots I ever caught at this place but it only got better as the morning went on. It had been years since I fished here but the quality was amazing as they are feeding like crazy and fat as footballs with plenty of fight. Launching is easy at Emerald Bay at the dam and scenery is breathtaking as I saw 2 bald eagles in a death spiral, talons hooked together spinning wildly until they finally broke off before hitting the ground. Only wish a cameraman was available as that would have gone on the web. Always knew this was a late bite lake and now seems to be the time so give it a shot and you won't be disappointed.
    City: Wheatland

Tips: Cranks, ie Speed Traps and Rattletraps in red or craw colors. I would alternate the speedtrap speed and many times when I stopped the retrieve and it started to fall....BAM there they were. Caught many in the 2-3 lb class and my largest was over 4 and looked like a Clearlake largie. Hitting the shady laydown areas produced the best action and the jig (brown and purple) on large rock dropoffs nailed the largest fish of the day.
