Water Temp: cool for this t

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went out to try for crappie and only scratched up a half dozen. Watched a lot of bass feeding on small shad all over the place; boiling all over the lake. Decided to see if they were chasing the shad into the weedlines since I saw terns diving all over. Using a 1/32oz white crappie jig, got six bass. 2 12-13 inchers who thought they were bigger, 2 2 pounders, 1 4 pounder and a 6 pound kicker who blew up right next to my kayak. Threw my jig right over her boil, yanked it a couple of times and she hit it. Pulled me for a little Alaskan sleigh ride in my kayak. All fish released and all looked real healthy
    City: sunnyvale

Tips: Go small; THe bass weren't hitting anything big, just shad about 1-2" long. Saw bigger ones, but no bass around them

    Water Temp: 71

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out on the boat today and fished for about 4 hours. We were on the water until almost 8:00 tonight. It was awesome and the bite during the last hour and a half was off the hook.... literally.

I caught 5 fish and lost two. One of the fish I lost was well over 5 lbs. - I had it right up to the boat and then I switched my rod from right to left like a friggin IDIOT! I knew I messed up right when I did it. It was at the boat, money in the bank, my dad even had a hand on it. It could have had a new PB.

Anyhow, here is the break down:

    Caught 2 on Brush Hog
Caught 2 on Basstrix Minnow (This swimbait has GREAT potential - I would have caught more with this but I lost it)
Caught 3 on Craw Colored Crank Bait (Lost the 5 Pounder on this bait)

I also threw a Rapala X-Rap suspension minnow and had one nice hit but nada.

If you head back into Cherry Cove there are bunch of carp swarming around - maybe they are nesting? I also saw a bright orange Koi cruising which was pretty cool.

One more note - After I lost my 5# I caught the biggest crappie in my life on the craw colored crankbait - it was HUGE and I wish I would have taken a photo of it!

Tips: Brush hogs seem to be what the bigger bass like. If the water is calm try top water baits.

    Water Temp: 59

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: My Dad and I spent about 3 hours on the water on Friday. I hooked into only one fish on a carolina rigged brush hog. There was a lot of pressure on the lake that day.

We heard that a guy on a pontoon hooked into a 12# - if it's true that must have been awesome!

Wind wasn't as bad as it had been most of the week and I thought the bite would have been better.

    Good luck!

Report: Saw the strangest thing today. I saw a hundred, at least, carp spawning right at the edge of the grass at he south end of the lake. They were thrashing around in about 2 ft of water. Some were at least 15 pounds, or more.
    City: Santa Clara

Tips: It's windy for a float tube!

    Water Temp: ???

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Started around 8 a.m. Fished from shore to the left of the boat launch. Caught 8 fish from that spot in about 2 hours. 7 bass ranging from 1/2 to 4 pounds. 1 crappie almost a pound. All on white/chartreuse spinnerbaits.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Fish school around the docks/boat launch. Fish the spinnerbait around the boat launch and docks early in the day, while there are few boats there. Once jetskiers come the fishing sucks. Fish the spinnerbait on the bottom so it ticks against the rocks.

    Water Temp: 59-61

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished 1:30 to 6:00...Tubed from Launch and follwed shoreline South. I was determened to Rip.
I only marked two fish in the first hour..both suspended. I speant the next two hours hunting with occasional small action. I finally found them staged in 11-13 feet of water suspended around 6 feet deep....maybe 70 yards from the shallow flats. I couldn't find a consistent Rip bight "tired arms"...Started drop-shotting with great action.I watched alot of boats hit the typical water and blank...then cruise right over all those fish on there way to another spot. It's almost like everybody is programed...we just keep pounding what usually works. I found all these fish stacked in an area that I never pay attention to...normally 20-24 feet and featureless. Eventually the wind got the better of me.
Anyways, eventually that wind got the better of me. Interesting day...after that front.
    City: Morgan HIll

Tips: I'd suggest hit your spots...if it's slow search..then search some more. Atleast 75 percent of what I marked was suspended.
