    Water Temp: 53-57

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished two guide trips out o Big BReak this weekend. Headed out with great expectations ater the good ishing experienced last week and the stabalizing weather. The crank bite we ound last week all but disappeared on the grass lats. Went back to the jig early and began getting crushing bites on rock ledges in about 10 oot o water. Strange thing occured on that irst rock bank that we patterned all day. The ish would literally crush the jig, but on the hook set we would come up empty, or the ish would run o the bank and spit the bait. 25 slammin bites and one 2 pound ish in the boat to show or the day. Same occurance on Sunday, we abandond the crank bite early. Adjusted some, with some modiications to the jig by trimming the hair & Weed gaurd, increasing the weight and using a smaller piece o pork. This helped some as we boated 1/3rd o the ish that bit on Sunday. 10 ish caught on Sunday, but another 20+ missed bites.
    City: Oakley

Tips: Most areas o the Delta have settled in with temps ranging rom 53 in the morning to as high as 57 in the aternoon in the backs o calm areas. The south Delta remains above 60 degrees in most areas and ry are now present in some locations. While it does look like a small number o ish have spawned in the south, most o the ish through out the river system seem to be in some state o lux and are very lethargic and inactive. As always, there are some guys who seem to ind a group o active ish and are in the right place at the right time. Looking at the weights o this weekend's tournaments, they were not as strong as they should have been and most anglers did experience a tougher bite than last week. The best ishing the Delta has, is yet to come! Cranks and blades, mostly in chartruese, seem to be the most consistant producers. The jig isherman, are getting they're are share o quality bites and the ish are starting to really turn on this bait. The plastic bites are still ar and too ew between to rely on at this time.

    Water Temp: 51-55

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished this Monday and Tuesday with Joe & Brent, two clients rom the Sacramento area who had never been on the Delta beore. Due to the recent temperature drops and swinging cold ronts, the ishing on the River or me has been very unstable as o late. Establishing solid patterns on a day to day basis has been very tough to do and getting more than 6-8 bites a day was the norm. Granted, these bites have been good ones, it hasn't been the typical ishing we expect o the River in late February early March. But the bite the last two days seems to have picked up as the temperatures are now slowly rising steadily. The over night and morning temps are not near as low as they have been the last couple o weeks allowing the daytime sun to do it's thing. Small chartruese crankbaits and 1/8 minature Bomber spinner(Bush Whacker), also in chartruese, produce the most numbers o ish early in the day ishing around shallow (2-4')grass lats with isolated wood structure. These ish were mostly in the 2-3 pound range and clearly were bucks on the move. Each day we caught 15-18 ish. All the better ish we caught each day, ranged rom 3.5-9.5 pounds, came rom deeper haunts(8-16') on a 3/8 or 1/2 oz brown jig with olive pork. We did catch a ew decent ish on the black blue combo. Saturday's big ish included a 7.5 pounder, 6 and 4.5. On Sunday, we only had one big bite rom these deeper haunts, and it was a goodin, weigh'n in at 9.5 pounds.
    City: Oakley

Tips: Water temps are rising and starting out at around 53 degrees in the morning and climbing to 55-56 through out the day over most o the River. We did ind some very warm water in the south Delta that peeked out at 60.1 on Sunday aternoon(but never got bit!) Forecasted warming trends will surely drive the temps o quickly over the next ew days. The irst wave o ish are now starting to move, chuck and winding a small Fire Tiger crankbait, my irst choice being a 3A Fat bomber, Timber Tiger or 1/8 oz Speed Trap will put a lot o ish in the boat. Crank the deeper rock walls and you're liable to stick some bigger ish that are on the move. Smaller bucks are now starting to stack up on the points o grass lats. The bigger hens are still deep, but they are now beginning to eed and all or the Jig-n-pig. Fish the bait agressively, add some rattles till the water really clears and use lotsa "catchup"(BANG)! The Senko and plastic bite or me is non existant right now, but will surely bust loose any day!

Report: Had an interesting day today. We caught many ish in the 3lb range with ouy best a 6.8. I say interesting because today we were throwing (literally)- giant- sencos watermelon red, and green somethin or another with lippin sticks and actually catching ish. Most ish came in 8 to 10 o water near deep points, wood or a dock structure near the point was deinatley a plus.......Micster

    Water Temp: 50-52

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Water has not cleared up pretty good in most areas. Bite is still a little tough. Caught 4 & 6 keepers rom 1.5# - 3# on plastics. No real pattern, just a ew active ish here and there. Got a ew deep on the outside o the weed line, a couple shallow behind the weeds, a couple o a deep tule wall, and a couple o lats with some wood. Spent a lot o time looking or quality ish, but did not ind them this weekend. Bite should really improve once the water temp hits 52-55. Seems like the irst ew ish are moving into the spring areas.
    City: Brentwood

Tips: Tried blades, cranks, jigs, and plastics. All came on plastics. Several baits worked. Tube baits and ReAction Gator Dogs (Similar to Brush Hawg) were the best producers. Back/red and PB&J were the best colors o the ones I tried.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished all day Saturday and Sunday...On the water both days out o Disco at 8:00 AM...Saturday...Fished everything in the tackle box and until I picked up my son at 1:00 had (1) bite/ish (2.5lbs) to show or it...Ater I picked him up caught (5)up to 2.5lbs and missed two bites...All ish caught shaking worms in Disco...The cleaner the water the better the bite...Sometimes had to shake worm in the same place or over a minute or two...Bites were pressure...Pick up and move type. Best ive went a bit over 10lbs. Son enjoyed reeling in the ish and commented on how green the ish were. Much un. Sunday I took out Granpa Ed and we headed out o Disco to the ar North...Found some clean water and caught in excess o 25 ish. Shaking worms, Carolina tiny brushhogs o rocky points and ishing tight to structure slowly...We ished each area in inches and used dark robo worms and yamamoto wacky style pumpkin and watermelon. Biggest was 3.7 and bagged a solid 14lb (5) ish limit. All ish were caught in water rom 5 to 20 eet deep. Nothing against the bank at all. O the 25 ish...22 went over 13 inches...A great day...Weather was perect!!
    City: Discovery Bay

Tips: Dark colors and tight to wood structure were keys. Slow...Slow...and Slower...Robo in baby bass, and margarita were great baits on Sunday. Four inch pumpkin and watermelon senkos wacky rigged also caught good ish. We ished three small areas all day worked them thoroughly. Bites came in spurts o two to our ish and then silence or short periods. Enjoy the water and stay sae. TG.

Report: I've been away or a bit but here's a report or my last three Delta excursions.1/20 - Launched out o Disco and ished inside all day...Cranked White Norman DD18, Senko, Black/Blu Jig, and used drop shot. Caught 12 total, (5) over 13 and one which went 12lbs 8 ounces!!! Took her in to get weighed and pictured beore releasing back where she came rom. Along with her I caught a 3+. All ish came on drop shot with 4 1/2 inch roboworm. Caught a big striper as well on crank. Weather was cold and oggy. Worked bait rom bank to 15+ eet. Caught nearly all ish in 8+ eet o water.1/26 - Fished Tracy Oasis Tourney and went back into Disco. We inished 2nd with 10.44 lbs (5 ish). Caught Drop shot ish, but most came Carolina rigging tiny brushhogs. We caught (9) keepers with biggest at 3.4. Best ish were caught in 10+ eet o water dead sticking or barely moving bait.1/30 - Launched out o Disco again and caught a 2.5lb ish on irst cast and then waited our hours or my next bite. Totaled (8) ish with (5) over 13 but barely. Again, drop shot was the ticket or me. Also, missed a ew hard knocks on jig and Carolina rig. SLOW...SLOWER...AND DEAD STICK.
    City: Discovery Bay

Tips: Not much advice here other than the bait either had to be still or gentling moving to get any attention. I you do drop shot don't set the hook on irst tick...Lower rod tip and gently pull up...USE SHARP HOOKS. Customize your baits using Black, Chartreuse, and Red...Seems to help.Be patient the bites will come.

    Water Temp: 52-56

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: John and I took my dad who is in rom Colorado on a combo striper-black bass trip the last two weekends and really got on some nice ish. Last weekend we hit 22 stripes to 25.2 pounds and 4 blacks to 3.3 pounds. This weekend we nailed 20 stripes to 10 pounds and 3 blacks to 3.7 pounds. The cool thing about the 25 pounder last weekend is that it spooled John and my dad caught the line an hour later. We tied a blood knot to one o my rods and reeled the beast in. I got the whole thing on tape, which makes it even more special.
    City: Roseville

Tips: All ish were caught in the whites area, but inding clear water is a must. By clear, I mean one oot o visibilty or better. All ish were caught on reaction baits with the brighter colors working best. The ish were really jumping on the baits last weekend, but this weekend they wanted them paused or luttered. This is the warmest I have ever seen the water at this time o year, which would explain the good black bass bite on metal baits. We will really start to get serious on largemouth ishing the next couple o weeks with tournament season coming up, but it sure is hard to leave the stripers when there hitting like this. Good luck and be sae.

Report: Got a late launch on Fri and ound almost 2 dozen boats ishing the same weed lines out in Franks. Traps and topwater produced or us and or most o the other boats around. Although, they were a bit on the small side, not one over 6 that we saw. Hit a ew middle Delta spots with only a ew to show or it. Tried a ew big ish spots without a bite. Couldn't get bit in Sherman even with decent 2-3 oot water clarity and the tide we like so we ran back to the Break to inish o. Great topwater bite the last 1/2 hour o light. Several double hook-ups with ish up to 10lbs. Even my girlriend's son bagged a 9 1/2 on a 6' med spin rod with a trap, what a ight! Plus 3 largies to 4 1/2.Sun dierent story. A ew good rolls at irst light with 3 in the boat to 8lbs, then nothing. Fished traps and topwater hard and all over or the next 3 hours with nada. Finally switched to spoons on schoals in 15-20 eet o water and boated 8 quick ish to 4lbs. Oh well, bad tides I guess, at least we all hooked up.

Report: Boated a dozen stripes between 7:30 and 9am wed morning. Only took 45 min to idle rom the Break to Franks in all that darn og. Fish started at 5lbs and up to a couple 10's all caught on top water ished along weedlines. Back out or a little pre-turkey stripering thurs...more og! More topwater ish in Franks and the Holland area rom 4-8lbs. The really un part was we put together almost a 20lb bag o largemouth anchored by a 6 1/2 by my girlriend, rom one small patch o grass, all on the same giant pencil poppers we were catching the stripes on. Bite really slowed once the sun inally came out, save or one pig that rolled on me twice then went completly airborne and managed to avoid getting stuck.
