    Water Temp: 49 to 50

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Slow day out on the lake fished senkos and drop shots. only managed 2 fish in 5 hours. fished main dam with only 1 bite and fished north lake end with the last remaining bite. no fish up in the Bear river stretch. We only marked a few fish all day. Look for bite to pick up when water temps in spring reach 57 degrees.

Tips: Keep an eye out on your depth as to current low water conditions especially if you are unfamiliar with this lake, most hazards are not marked here.

  • Water Temp: 59.5

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: If you have not fished this lake, there is a $20 entrance fee for car and boat. There is one ramp with one floating dock so sometimes there can be a delay launching or getting your boat back on trailer. This was my first visit this year.

The water was quite muddy and cold due to recent rains. I started fishing around 8:30 and quit 3 hours later with six bass, the largest was 15". I caught most on a morning dawn and one on a chartreuse grub. I caught them all in shallow water --one in 2 1/2 feet of water next to a tree. My friend Curt was fishing in his boat and he took 5 all on morning dawn. It looked like there were six or seven other boats on the lake but the jet skiers were around zipping around even with the cold water.

    Tips: Fish the bushes...

  • Water Temp: 80

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished with two of my daughters and hit the water a few minutes before sunrise. Started around the island on the south end of the dam and my oldest quickly boated two keepers around a pound and a half each dropshotting People's worm in 5-15' of water. She called the score 2-0-0.
I responded quickly by hooking a solid 3.5 that threw the hook at boat and she updated my score to -2.
We fished until 1230 and finished with our best five going 7.82. Even managed to catch a 3# channel cat on a drop shot back near the quarry.

Tips: Dropshotting is a great producer for the kids, and anything in red, pink, purple works great! Best fish were on the inside of main lake points.

  • Water Temp: 60-62

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Not a bad day on the water. Caught 10-12 fish while in four hours on the water. At least one hour of which was used getting the kids un-snagged or re-tying lines. Most fish caught up the Bear River arm on plastics. Couple out of Rock Creek as well, too windy to locate any beds.

Tips: Plastics was all I could get bit on, threw a spinner bait and a crank bait with no luck.

  • Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Took my 6 year old son out sun morning/afternoon. Fished the Bear river arm and the flats north of the dam. Non stop action, most dinks but fun! The better fish where on the flats, spotties probably moving up to spawning area. All fish were caught in less than 10ft, tried deeper but nothing. 21 total with biggest maybe 2.5lbs. Son outfished me again-- Camp Far is great for getting kids hooked on fishing!
    City: Loomis

Tips: One on lipless, a few on small swimbait, a couple on dropshot, and non-stop on split-shot hula grubs

  • Water Temp: 58-60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: First time at the lake in almost a year and it fished GREAT. I took a rookie fisherman, my 2 year old, and 6 year old and still got bit. Fished from 7:45-1:30 and caught about 20 in total. Tried the main body and Rock Creek first thing and blanked in two hours of fishing. We moved to the Bear River arm and started whacking them. Caught 5 rats on a drop shot and the rest on a tube. Biggest five were a conservative 17-18 lbs, with a 7 lb largemouth being the donkey. Fast action and easy to pattern once we got bit.

Tips: All fish were on inside of points that were protected from the wind. Most fish were in 15-20 feet, only one shallow in about 6 feet. Two fish were spitting up Bluegill when I got them in the boat.

    Water Temp: 61

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished 4 hours and landed 6 in the 1.5 to 2 lb. range. Skies were overcast with little to no wind. First fish came on a lipless crank bait. Next 5 were all top water. The bite seemed to turn on with the presence of a slight 5 minute rain shower. Saw several other bass anglers landing fish. Overall the lake seemed to be producing for most of us.
    City: Lincoln

Tips: With the water level rising so fast, be extra cautious of floating debris everywhere.

Report: Overall the bite for the tournament was slow. We caught 5 "CFW cookie cutters" early and then after 10 o clock it died and we only managed 4 12"ers. It took 8 lb for cash and 10.2 lb to win.

    Water Temp: 60-63

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Second week in a row that I have been there and the lake is full and clear. Last week a shallow running crankbait was the ticket and this week it was the tube. Fish are all the way into the coves and beds can be found everywhere. The wind helped fishing along the windblown banks and we caught a bunch with the largest only a 3 pounder. There is no better time to hit this lake than right now.

Tips: Tubes on a 1/4 darthead worked in 7-10' and when working the coves, many were in only a foot or so of water.

    Water Temp: 49-63

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished from 2pm to 5pm. Had high hopes due to the stable weather. Hopes dashed until the last 1 minute before I was due to leave. Tried everything earlier,Jigs, Rip Bait etc, had to go back to my go to bait Green Pumkinseed Hula Grub to catch a fish.
    City: W. Sac

Tips: Dock talk revealed a lot of fish caught on Green Jigs?? The last couple of days my fish have come no shallower than 25 ft on sunny long points. They don't seem to like it moved fast.

    Water Temp: 49 to 50.1

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished a couple of hours right before sunset. Mainly wanted to get the boat in shape as it was the first time out in 6 months. 0 reaction bite so I went to my confidence lure on this lake, Green Pumpkin Seed Hula Grub. Caught two clone 1/2 pounders dragging. First was a light bite the second aggressive. Dock talk mentioned that the bite will get hot soon, due to the warming stable conditions. The lake is having it's annual Tourney on 02/23/13.
    City: W.Sac

Tips: Fish slow. Listening to msic on my Ipod helped me slow down. No reaction bite drag for a small limit.

    Water Temp: 48-50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: After taking my Brother in law and his Brother in law (up from SoCa) to Clear Lake the day before they were told today would be quanity not quality. I rigged them with very light spinning tackle using small plastics. They both got their fill of 1-2# fish and some "dinks" thrown in. Wind in the early am was a little strong from the west then switch to the north and calmed down a bit. Bite was better, and the best fish came in the afternoon. I guess that's normal this time of the year. Lake still has some stain but not enough to stop them from spotting the bait!
    City: Roseville

Tips: Fish your favorite spots with your favorite lures but make sure it's slow. Fish seemed to want it almost stopped except a couple of stupid "teenagers" that bit on the reel up. See everyone on the 23rd!

    Water Temp: 49-50

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Started the day out very cold with temps in the low thirties. Wind changed direction a couple of times throughout the day making it hard to focus because of the chill in the air. Water temp started out at 49 and only warmed to 50 by afternoon. Fish can be caught but you have to keep moving. Found bait sitting over 50-60 feet in the 20-30 foot range but would not bite the spoon or drop shot that I offered them. I might be fishing an up and coming tournament there so I can't give out too much information. I've been out twice this week on Monday and Saturday. Saturday's bite was much better. All small fish nothing over 2.5 pounds. Fish are trying to fatten up but still very thin. I will report everything and how I caught those fish once the tournament is over. Until then take a kid fishing and be good humans.
    City: EDH

Tips: I will give out that info in a few weeks.
