Report: Had a delightful time fishing with my wife, pre-Mother's Day fun. We caught 13 total. The biggest went 1.5 LB Of course she caught the big one!! The majority of our fish came on the main lake. We tried the Bear Arm not much action. The further we went up the colder the water was (65 degrees) and less action.

Tips: Witch's T (Robo worms) in colored water and Sexy Shad Robo worms) in clearer water. 0 reaction bite.

    Water Temp: 66-70

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished alone for a couple hours in the late morning then picked up my wife, 9 year old son and his friend for a few more hours.. Spent most of the day in the large cove between bear river and the dam. We managed 13 fish (with lots of short strikes), most around a pound with one nice spot that went 2-12. Most were caught on drop shot Aaron's magic roboworms, with a few on green pumpkin senko. All came from 5 to 15 feet of water. Not quite up to some of the recent reports, but everyone caught something, and it was a nice day on the lake.

Nothing on jerk bait but did have a decent one a crank. We did get a few on a blade as well.

Report: Fished with a friend from 8am to 3pm. Stayed in Bear River Arm to try to avoid the 15-20mph wind. Between the two of us we caught 5 spots between 1 and 2.5lbs, all on jigs (green pumpkin Hula Grubs) 20-30 feet down off steeper rocky banks.

Also tried jerk baits, drop shot, shaky head, Senkos, tubes, etc., in various colors with no bites.

Report: Bass Busters of Yuba City had a tourny at CFW and everyone did quite well. I believe everyone except 2 caught limits and 11lb won it. Tried cranking and ripping in the morning with no luck. Sun was up and started to throw a jig and the bite got really good. Other members did really well w/ drop shots but I didnt even try it since I was getting bit on jigs. I fished points in 35ft of water. Sometimes they hit it hard and you got to really set the hook and other times you just lifted your rod tip and one was on. I had a blast! Cant wait to fish it again in January. If interested in fishing our club please email. We are looking for new members.
    City: Plumas Lake

Tips: Have net ready and dont horse them in too quick. Lost 2 at the boat like that. Also retie when you know you been in the rocks a few times. I knew my line wss frayed a tiny bit and I kept at it cuz I didnt want to miss anything. Got a great bite, set the hook, fought it for about 10 seconds and then slack. 10lb line broke on what felt like was going to be my biggest fish of the day. I will retie next time no question!

Report: Turkey Shoot yesterday and there was a good amount of fish caught. I personally caught 1 keeper on a jig and caught a ton of dinks on dropshot and splitshot rig. All baitfish colors. Fish were spitting up tons of baitfish. Definitely the technique to use. I was told spinnerbaits and shakey heads produced well also.
    City: Plumas Lake

Tips: We marked tons of fish very deep up to 60/70 ft but found stragglers in 20 to 10 ft.

Report: Spotted Bass are still spawning. Most of the better fish I caught were females that had not spawned but were up getting ready. A lot of surface activity with mostly small fish chasing bait. Nice lake and hope to come back soon.
    City: Sacramento

Tips: Grub fished on 1/8 oz. Darthead and 4 inch senko caught the most. 3/8 oz. spinner bait fished around deep brush in 15 feet of water is also working.

    Water Temp: 63-66

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I knew Saturday would be great since it was overcast and very little wind, unlike the week prior. Got busy right off the bat and it never stopped as I worked spawning banks and coves using a tube all day. When something is working, why change? It got stupidly congested with power boats and skiers and called it a day by 1:00 but I gotta say that I normally don't count my catches, today I did and I caught and released 71 bass with my best 5 only going about 13 lbs. Great day but looks like you need to go middle of the week.
    City: Wheatland

Tips: Tubes on a 1/4 darthead worked off shallow banks and into the backs of coves.

Report: Took my son and dad out for a day on CFW. Had a pretty good day considering I had to re-tie and and get snags about 50 times. Found fish near submerged willows, brush and secondary points. Boated two 3#'s and the rest below. Lost two donkeys near the boat. Both were largies im guessing a 7# and 5#. Both were on green pumpkin brush hogs pitched in at isolated willows. The rest were caught with senkos.
    City: Sacramento

Tips: Fish submerged willows in coves and inlets just before the bear river arm. Have fun and be safe.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: A group of use fished from friday to Sunday and the trees is where they were hiding. Friday was the best day we ever had on that lake. White spinner bait or a white chatter bait. We had 2 1/2 to 4.0 lbers all day, just in the afternoon 20 plus bass. At one time we had seven bass with in 30 minutes. Saturday was tougher but the darter head did give us 25 plus not as big.Sunday the winds came in 10 MPH plus but on the long banks with threes i boated 10 bass over 3 lbs with in two hours. So get out there and get a boat full of bass then release them so we can come back.

    Water Temp: 47-49

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished a work t-shoot with conditions looking better than I was imagining they would be. Main lake and Rock is heavily stained, but looks like the Delta and fishes pretty good. Bear River is thick enough to plow and needs a week of good weather to straighen it out.

My partner and I weighed 14.52 lbs.with a 5.39 BF. Two jig fish and the rest of our limit came on crankbaits. All of our fish were in 5-10 ft. of water on a shallow point and hit the crank when it was digging the bottom hard. One other team had a limit for 11 lbs. that came in the shallows north of the Spillway.
    City: Roseville

Tips: I wasn't planning on a good day, it just worked out that way. The fish were ALOT shallower than I thought they would be and were alot more active as well. With the water color, stick with the bottom bumping baits like a jig or crank and work them slow.

Report: Just Len staying close to home. Got in the water around 8am and stayed in Rock Creek most of the day. Three on the boat with 12 nice bass from 2-4.0 lbs. Drop shot, split shot with a light green lizard and a chatter bait. The bass are moving up to find the beds.
    City: Rocklin

    Tips: Work it slow.

    Water Temp: 52

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Trying to save gas on a long drive, went to CFW for the second week in a row and must admit that it was a lot better than last week. Started at a cove going up Rock Creek and virtually stayed there all day as the bite was so good. Worked a gradual drop bank with a tube pulled slowly on the bottom to boat over 15 really nice, fat bass. Bite is starting to pick up and spoke to another angler at ramp who said they drop shotted the first fish and stayed with it all day with a real good day so if you're looking for some action without spending big bucks to drive elsewhere, CFW is starting to turn on as it has been at full pool for a month or more.
    City: Wheatland

Tips: Convinced that we would get a reaction bite and having that fail, the tube turned the trick and they seemed to want a lighter color bait as the darker ones got us no bites. Working it slowly on the bottom, the bite was at times violent while other bites were almost impossible to feel until you moved your rod and felt a difference in the feel. Nice color and the girls are full of eggs and getting ready to find a home for the next generation.

    Water Temp: 46-50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fishing was pretty slow today. Got out about 0730 this morning and started fishing near the Bear River area. Water temp in that area was about 46 degress. Only one hit on Tx Rig Black Burkley Power Bait. Moved over to the Rock Creek area with no Luck. Ran into a guy who had caught two Bass (2 lb each) in the Rock Creek area but that was it. No one else I talked to had any luck. Water Temp in the Rock Creek area was a little warmer at 50 degrees. Hopefully it will start picking up in the next few weeks. Tried the dam area trying jigs and rattle trap with no luck. The wind was about 15-20 so the boat was moving a little fast to have any luck in the area around the Dam.
