  • Report: Bass fishing has started to pick up and many bass anglers are catching them each outing. If you are fishing for bass, the early mornings and in the evenings, mostly on plastics, jigs, hula grubs and top water will be your best bet. If you do want to try your luck a couple good spots to fish for bass are; near the island or the tulles by Raccoon Point. Please practice catch and release for bass, as they are not stocked into the lake and their population depends on you!

Report: rented a boat and started at the island. Threw a 8" swimbait, made 10 casts before boating a 5# lmb. Continued to fish the island before heading for bass cove. Spotted 2 bald eagles on the way and fished bass cove for 2 hours. Lots of vegetation and algae with lots of bass fry. Missed a 3-4 lber but Bass Cove had a lot of activity: boils and fish jumping.

Report: Magical day on Lake Chabot Wednesday -- a 10+ fish day! Sunny, cool and breezy, just the perfect weather to disarm LM bass from all predators. Alder Point is producing consistent bites as usual at this time of year. The bass were hitting on jigs, roboworms, and senkos. Enjoy while the good weather and feeding frenzy last.
