    Report: took the kids out hoping to have another great day of fishing but it was to windy for us my anchor would hold tried to find a place out of the the wind the only place we found out of the wind was home on the water for about a hour didnt really get a chance to fish

    Report: got on the water around 7:30 fishing for crappie it was slow for us the first hour saw people catching fishing straight down jigging not my thing when the sun came out it was on 100 plus fish all around 6 to 7 inches kept about half all caught in the narrows friend used red and white jig i used a smoke colored tried green didnt work as good

    Report: Not a bad day but not the best. Several nice small mouths, 1 nice blue gill, 2 cats, 2 big northern pike minnos, cappis & pearch. No stugen this trip.

    Tips: The same as before.

    Report: Good Day lots of bass, a 2.7lb Large mouth was the best. Perch & Cappies for dinner.

    Tips: Crank baits & in line spinners in the rocks, spinnerbaits in the weeds.

    Report: Not the best this time out. went to the narrows & were getting lots of hits from small Crappies, got 1 Pearch & some 11" & smaller Bass. Got done at midnite. Started again at 7 am on the 10. We went up the Snake river side this time got a 13" bass & some small fish, got rained out by 11. Maybe next time will be better.

    Report: Dad & I had a good day. Went up the Snake river arm. Got 3 stergon to the boat in the a.m. too tired to catch more so we switched to bass. We got 20 +, 4 smallmouths over 12", males on or making beds. 1 "Big for me" largemouth. 1 crappie.

    Tips: Used the same as normal, small jig head with a grub. crankbait & spinnerbait.

    Report: Took the wife & my Dad out tried for Sturgen in the a.m. 1 bite 0 to the boat. Switched to Bass, it was not red hot but we had 15 to the boat & Dad got the biggest Blue gill of his life. Left by 3p.m.

    Tips: Spinner bait worked best to start but a gig head with white/blue flake grub was the winner.

    Report: Went out and to my suprise, i had to park in over flow parking after i got the boat off the trailer. several bass boats were there and this is mid Janurary. i have my first tournament there this spring so i thought i would get some prefishing in. got to the ramp and loaded off and took off to the first spot. find a nice school that just covered my graph in about 60 ft of water. threw a drop shot over and let it sink. i put the rod on the floor of my boat as it was sinking to light a cigg..and when i picked it up, had a 3 lbs smallie on. fished for about 20 mins and got one just over 2 lbs. those were the only to bass for the day with 2 nice perch. the narrows are frozen completely from the balls back in the bruenu arm...cant acess that part of the lake at all. all you got is the main lake and the river which i ran about 5 mile past cove arm (about a 20 mile run from air force ramp) and it had no signs of ice. cove arm was in fact covered with ice...good luck fishing...

    Tips: slow...slow..slow!!! find you a nice drop off and fish it slow. if your lure isnt in the same spot for at least 10 mins, you are doing some wrong. find some drop offs in about 40-60 and sit on it for a couple hrs, its going to pay off. use drop shot, its easier to fish in the winter!

    Report: NICE day. Slight wind, We fished the narrows got 5 smally over 12" around 1.5lb & 1 perch that size. Lots of smaller fish.

    Report: We had a good day, lots or small bass & 4 good ones. Jigs with grubs, tubes & crankbaits it all worked. We just fished the narrows & only the north side of that. Hope to be out there soon.

    Report: The fish seamed to be bunched up you catch 4 or 5 then none for 300 yards. We hade a O.K. day med. to small fish, but any is better than none. A nice day out with Dad.

    Tips: 1/8 oz jig head with green or amber grub, small crank baits, Mepps spinners worked best on this day.

    Report: This sick day from work took place below C.J. Strike from Grandview down river but there is no report category for the Snake River. We were on the water around 11:30 and fished until 5:30. The carp are in the shallows enjoying the sun (bring your snaggin' hooks) but the smallmouth were not too responsive. The water is still a bit cold. The one smallmouth we picked up was 15". The river already has the infamous moss floating and polluting the water.

    We used a variety of gear. Started with 1/6 bushwhacker spinnerbaits (white/chartruese) that produced quite well in the fall (no success) pulled crawdad crankbaits (no success) Soft jerkbaits (no success) 4" tubes (the only fish of the day)

    We had our second rods out looking for any bait eaters and still no success. The moss gums up attempts at keeping bait clean.

    Be aware of water fluctuation. It dropped over a foot from the time we showed up to the time we left.

    We used a 14' Gregor to fish from the boat ramp at Grandview to about 5 miles down river. Watch out for shallows. Float it first then power up slowly the first few visits... unless you're wealthy...

    Tips: Fish dark tubes for Snake River Smallies. Tubes with any kind of built in stink work the best. I have had great luck with Mister Twister Fat Tubes. I use an 1/8 oz jig head with 8lb. Yo-Zuri Hybrid line.
    Push the boat on the bank near some rocks with some current.(preferably down from where you want to fish) Cast up river a bit and let the lure hit bottom. Lift and drag the tube with the help of the current. Keep your slack reeled in. The "grinding on the rocks" feeling and the "grinding bite" of a smallmouth can be hard to tell apart at first. If it feels like a bite, it probably was...set that hook!!!
    Tubes don't get hung up too bad because of the plastic covering the leadheads. 4" grubs work well for smallies but seem to wedge in the rocks quite readily.
    Tubes work from early season until you get chased off by duck hunters in October.

    Report: Smallmouth are still deep. I pulled a 17" lunker female smallmouth from 45 feet--she was full of eggs--I got her back in the water ASAP. I'd hooked two other large ones and lost them on the way to the surface. Try trolling in Cove (stay in the deep channel) and troll out the inlet of Cove toward the narrows. Stay at the edge of the dropoff and troll in the 30 to 40 foot depth range.

    Tips: I used a Pumpkinseed 3" Power Grub--can't buy them here, you have to get them on-line. Lots of hits to keep you busy all day. Probably some Perch (I caught Perch inside Cove) accounted for some of the hits, but not in the deep areas. Cove tends to shield you from some of the wind too.

    Report: I Was bank ishing along the Snake River around Glenns Ferry. Using a craw pattern crankbait, I landed 5 keepers in about 25 minutes. The wind picked up (as usual) and the bit just quit. I switched to a chartruce spinner bait with a white twin tail trailer, and hooked into one last keeper beore giving up. Only ished or about an hour beore the cold wind roze my hands.

    Tips: I deinately recommend throwing a medium diving crankbait in a craw pattern. I don't usually use them but the bass were real aggressive and I limited out in a very short time. I I were ishin a tourney I would have been culling right away.
