Good day for us didnt here of anything much on the dock.
    City: Guerneville

Tips: 6 in bottom walkers seemed to be the ticket most productive areas being seawalls and green vegitation in about 2-5 feet of water

Report: I just bought the lure with a bunch of other stuff and I forgot the name of it. I can tell you that it was a deep diver, it had a dark green back, chartruese middle, and a whiteish bottom half, and some sparkle all around it. I'll find out the name tomorrow and let you know.

    Water Temp: 42

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished 1/2 day on 12/28 out of Red Bud (So. End)made it as far as Kinackti on all 4 days with artificials, I tried drop shot, jig, rip, crank, senko & swim bait and only got one right at 5:00 pm, it was a fat 5.3 lber on a Rapala DT 10 crank bait. Fished 12/29 with my son Brandon, brother Benny, friend Keith and Tyler with minnows and I got smoked, I could only get 3 fish to go to 4 lbs, Tyler got 4 fish, Benny 5 fish to 4 lbs and Keith 8 fish to 6 lbs, everyone beat me that day even 12 year old Tyler!, They had fun with that:)On 12/30 only Benny and I fished with minners and got 4 fish each but they all came at the end of the day in 4-6 feet of water mind you, the prior days we were getting them in 15-25 feet but Sun night they were on the bank in 42 deg water eating something (bait fish/crawdads?)from 3:30 to 4:15 we got 6 fish, four 4+ lbers and 2 5+ lbers, my brother got 4 fish in a row before I realized he was casting into 4-6 feet of water and I was still in 15-25 feet, as soon as I started tossing into 4-6 feet I got 3 in about 10 cast. On 1/31 I only fished 1/2 day, my brother had to hit the road early so it was just my son and I and I decided to rip for 20 minutes and crank for 25 minutes and came up empty so I said that's it, I am going to use my new Shimano Cumara jig rod my Mom bought me for Christmas for the next 4 hrs (I still had not got a fish on it and wanted to break it in) I ended the day with 3 fish to 3 lbs on my new jig rod with double wide sweet beavers on a 1/4 oz shakey head that I modify from a 3/O to a 5/0. I think this is the first time I have ever caught bass in 42 deg water with artificials, I was kind of proud of that, I am an A personality and its hard for me to slow down that much.
    City: San Joser

Tips: If you go with artificials I would use shad crank bait or brown jig and toss until your arm falls off, the crank bait fish was in 10 feet of water at 5:00 pm and it hit on the stop, all 3 of the jig fish hit as soon as the jig hit the bottom, no bites while dragging and man did I do some dragging and hopping and swimming. My brother is from Oregon and he decided to use a steel head type of set up for minnows, its like a drop shot set up only with a 3 way swival and a 1-2 feet of line on the hook end, this keeps the minnows off the bottom so they don't hide in the rocks, make sure your weight tag is longer than your hook tag so he can't hide. We use drop shot hooks when using minnows, the reason we use them is because we never kill fish with deep hooks, even if a fish does get a hook in the gullet the hooks comes out with no problem. All fish caught in 4 days are still alive and well for the next trip!

    Water Temp: 55-60

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Found water Clarity from 2 feet to 8 feet in places. Fished 11/16-11/18 with my 3 & 5 year old daughters plus took a friend of mine with me for the 5 hrs we did fish on Fri. My buddy got a 4 lb and 3 2 lbers on drop shot and I got 7 fish to 7 lbs (see photo's) on drop shot using 6 inch robo's in 10-20 feet of water on Fri, Fri we had 18 lbs. Sat I fished around 6 hrs along with a good amount a AC tourney guys, everyone was very good about keeping distance between each other, got a 5 lber on a Senko with lots of smelly jelly and at 6:00 PM with my 2 daughters dancing in my boat and jumping up and down I kid you not I got 4 fish to 10 lbs in 4 cast!!! the 10 lber (see photo's) I got on a 7 inch black berkley power worm on 6 lb line drop shotting on my Shimano Crucial drop shot rod, if a fish breaths on this rod you will feel it, had 23 lbs on Sat, Sun only fished 4 hrs but was so jazzed about the 10 lber I did not put much effort into it and got 3 fish to 3 lbs.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Everything these bass have tried to eat in the last year has had hooks in it:) so if you fish during the day go with the lightest line you can because the water is also the clearest its been in years, almost like fishing Oroville in places. I tried swim bait had a few followers but no takers, had one rip bait fish but most fish were on drop shot in 10-22 feet of water. Like Larry and Marty have said (see photo's) night time is on fire right now, if you fish at night go black or black and brown.

    Water Temp: 54-59

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Wow is the lake's water clear!! in certain areas I could see down 7-8 feet, the bite was tough, I tried swim baits for 1 1/2 hrs with no luck and than went to crank bait with no luck and than drop shot with no luck and than yes I did it, I tossed a split shot and got 7 dinks on Aarons magic and than got 1 about 2.5 lb at 1:30 on my favorite crank bait. I found 2 schools of fish, a school of 1 to 3 lbers about 15 fish in 7 feet of water, I could only get the small ones to bite the bigger ones would just look at my worm and swim away. I found a school of about 300 bass from 10 inches to 2 lbs, I kid you not there had to be at least 300 fish in this small cove, the next few years should be off the hook. I spoke to a number of guys out pre fishing for a few tourney's that are coming up and they said the bite was tough also exept for one guy who caught 6 fish while I watched in amazement, one was over 4 lbs and one was about 3.5, he just fished a BIG tourney at Clear Lake and has a small one coming up and boy did he show me a thing or two, he gave me a few of his worms (with out me asking) and gave me a few tips. I have been fishing for bass for 15 years and I am still learning and willing to learn, you can bet I will be switching one of my rigs to how he had his set up.
    City: San Jose

Tips: I will not say what worm the tourney guy was using and the other tips he gave since he fishing soon but Aarons magic is working drop shot or split shot, if you can call one crank bait fish a tip there you go, Rapala DT10 black and silver.
I will be taking 2 of my kids up in 2 weeks, hopefully the bite will be better.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I took my 3 year old son and 5 year old daughter camping and fishing and my brother and his friend came down from Oregon to fish our big mouth heaven at Clear Lake. Fished 4/26,4/27,4/28 & 4/29. Only fished a few hrs on 4/26 but still got 7 fish to 4 lbs on black berkley 7 in power worms, on 4/27 got about 10 fish to 3 lbs using Margareta Muletator on a shakey head, we are potty training my son so I spent alot of time putting him on the porta potty:)on 4/28 when my brother arrived and the weather was much better I got 18 bass to 3 lbs, my brother got 14 bass to 3 lbs he brought a friends 10 year old son named Tyler who never caught a bass before and caught 8 bass to 2.5 lbs!!! so we got 40 bass on 4/28. On 4/29 we got about 22 bass total but the highlight of Sunday was a 3 lb male guarding a nest and I had the 10 year old but his dart head MMII on the nest and he ate it with a vengence!! It does not get better than that. My brother was concerned that with all of the FLW guys and other tourney's going on that the bite would not be good, I think a lot of the females were taken to Kanackti for weigh in but there were tons of 2-3 lb males willing to play.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Margareta Mutalator 4.5 or 6 inch on a shakey head or dart head, black power worms. If you are fishing in front of tullies use the drop shot, if you are fishing the flats use shakey head, when using the shakey head just let the boat drag the lure, do not shake it, even though its called the shakey head they did not want it shaken, they wanted it stured, I mean dragged:) I wanted to try the shakey heads and forgot to buy them and went to Lake Shore bait and tackle on Lake Shore drive and bought some MMII and Bob said did you get your shakey heads and I said man I almost forgot again and I am glad he reminded me because I got 90% of my fish on it, I have found a new love and its called the shakey head! Catch and release and God Bless!

Tips: fish your senko really slowly

Report: Best tip for indian valley is don't go there. Yeah there may be alot of fish, but your boat will be covered in dirt from the 9.2 mile walker ridge road entering the lake. Not to mention flat tire's from the jagged rocks sticking up out of the road. They keep the road ruff to keep people out. One day they will pave it. Then go fishing.

Tips: Also Indian valley is prone to have major windstorms at random. I have made the trip up there on perfectly calm day's and when i arrived at the lake there were 5 foot windwaves slapping up against the boat launch. Making it impossible to launch the boat at all.

    Water Temp: 61

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Well I went out on the lake today with my family, hit the water about 10:30 We knew there was the elite series this weekend that is one of the reasons we went out. Man it is cool watching them fish. Especially when your favorite pro comes to your spot when that happems i backoff, when they come to a spot your at move away and let them do their job. So anyway we caught three my dad caught two on a rip bait. and i caught one on a drop shot. Out of the 6 years i have been fishing this lake i have never seen the water this clear. we were looking for bedfish we saw a few males on beds but they were not interested. So the most we could see down was at least twelve feet. Those fish are oviously biting seeing what Steve kennedy, Skeet Reese, And Greg Guiteriez brought in today, actually there were about twenty twenty five pound sacks brought in from when i was watching possibly more. Two twelve pounders in one day I have been watching all three days and there have been so many fish over six ponds brought in. Every single one of those guys said this is the best bass lake in america. So that is how lucky we are. So tommorow they are down to twelve pros so just being curtious if one of them pulls up on a spot that you are fishing get off. well that is all i have to say good luck tommorow with those guys, and Tight Lines.
    City: Ukiah

Tips: throw rip bait on the end of docks especially when it gets windy and if you are looking for big fish throw a 8+ inch swimbait.

Report: Water is clearing, but not too cool, as Mr. Hemphill mentioned. Two fish on the LV500 early, then the blacklights came out. Threw jigs w/yamamoto tt trailer from 7-12 p.m. 20 or so fish to 8 lb. 6 oz. Rocks & docks on the West End. Working the jig down from 0-12 ft. on rockpiles, docks, boat ramps. The bite is light, usually on the fall...or just deadsticking.
Had a 40 fish night ( to 6-7) last Sat. using a jig -no rattles or scent. Got a 7-6 last Sun. on the jig, so the big uns are beginning to show.
    City: Lakeport

Tips: s-h-a-k-e that jig. Then let it sit. Reach down for your coffee, & you'll get a bite. Blacklights/flourescent lines. Black & blue or brown & orange jigs 3/8-1/2 oz. scent or not, rattle or no...all worked well. I really think my new jig rod made a difference. The graphite handle, which is molded to the blank really makes a difference feeling that light bite. The two guys who were with me agree...

Water is clearing nicely...want to get out for the day rip bite soon...

    Water Temp: 75

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished 9/16 thru 9/18 with my Brother Benny and 4 year old daughter Brianna and 2 year old son Brandon, we caught about 12 bass to 2.5lbs on 9/16, 24 bass to 3 lbs on 9/17 plus 1 5lb cat fish that hit rubber worm and 2 5bl cat fish that hit real worm, what a fight they are on drop shot rods!!!, decided to sleep in late on 9/18 and take the kids on a bluegill only run, what a blast, we caught and kept 20 bluegill on bobbers, the kids had a blast putting them in the live well and watching them swim around, they were delicious.
    City: San Jose

Tips: 4 inch purple or purple brown worms in any mfg, I caught one of my 3lbers on a K-Mart no name 3 inch purple curley tail grub with blue red flake on dart head, I only had one and the 3lber destroyed it. tried crankin, poppin, jiggin, with no takers so stayed with drop shot and dart head anywhere in the south end of lake in 4-10 ft, walls, toolies, docks & rocks as long as there were bait fish there were bass. Just like the guy who posted just ahead of me, you only got 2-4 fish per spot instead of 10-12 like sept 05. Keep the bluegill so the bass have a good chance next spring and release them bassers. God bless and good luck.

    Water Temp: 81-83

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I thought the reports section was for reports. Anyway, I took a nice guy to Clear Lake Tues evening after a very warm day. I though the wind would not be a problem but it was. Blew most of the night. We started in the Oaks arm and I had him throwing the Salt River Draw worm that Bob Higgins showed me. The client stuck the first six bass. I lost a big one and caught a few before dark. None of those were over 2 1/2 lbs. After dark we tried to stay out of the wind in Konocti Bay and did our best. We caught a few in the south side of the bay on 7 and 10 inch Power worms. About 11:30 pm near the mid-bay point I got an average bite but did not have an average response after the hookset! Wow - what a tussle. After three tries, she is in the net - all 9 1/2 lbs of her. Talk about a surprise! I believe she was in about 4 feet of water. The rest of the trip produced a few up to 3 1/4 lbs. We caught a total of 17 bass for a limit of 20 1/4 lbs - obviously much of that weight with one fish! A much slower night than the previous night trip with 31 keeper bass. I am just amazed at the difference a few days (nights) can make and how much the bite can change. The next day I guided 2 nice guys, showing them some spots to look for fall bass. Again, the bite was drastically slower than previous trips as we only landed some 12 bass. Some of the previously good areas didn't even produce a bite. Is that partly because of the huge weekend crowd? Who knows. One of the clients did well with his "secret" color crankbait. He caught 4 or 5 on that alone in shallow rocky areas. I would like to say where but I think he is fishing an upcoming tournament. At least we beat the cold front that was moving in as we left. I noticed that most everyone else had already pulled their boats out. Maybe it was generally tough?
    City: Yuba City

Tips: It is very hard to give constructive tips at this time of year when conditions are changing so fast. I did notice that many, many small bass are in the shallows - biting anything that you throw. That usually means that the bigger bass have moved off-shore somewhere for some reason. In another month you won't see hide nor hair of those small bass as the bigger ones will begin their pre-winter feed. The worm and crankbait bite seems to be the best thing going in my boat right now. I caught one on a jig. I did not go north of Soda Bay for both trips.

    Water Temp: 79

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

    Report: Bank Info
    City: Roseville

Tips: Unless u r going to stay at konocti resort they have recently change their rules only allowing paying hotel guest to fish on the docks. I suggest clearlake oaks located on the south end of the lake. Directions take 20 north from I-5 about forty five miles or so u will run into water. come into town about a mile or so and make a left at Island Dr. (next to the water plant) there is a boat ramp and dock fish that area all the way to the bridge. there is great access all over for bank fishing. Go to limit out Bait and tackle and he will have the robo worms needed to catch these bass. I prefer 6 inch robo in ox blood, red crawler or salt river crawler all great colors. Ask bob he is the owner he will stir u right he is located on highway 20 in the middle of town on the left hand side coming south to north. I have fish these areas over the years via bank and boat and have caught hundreds of bass. I would say over half have been from the bank. Fish the lure slow jig jig stop 3 secs jig jig stop 3 sec... goodluck.

Report: Thanks for the info guys. My son is really into bass fishing and he's only 7 yrs. old. We've fishing East Bay lakes with rented boats with minimal success and local south bay lakes.
