Report: I have fished this lake on many occations and have done very good at it. The water is a tea color and plenty of cover for Mr Bass! In summer months I have done very well with jigs flipped up under the tree limbs or next to laydown logs and have pulled out some big fish. The crawdad population must be high in this lake because any bass that I have ever kept have always had crawdad in thier tummy's. I have also done good with crankbaits along the shore bumping the logs with them. One of my top lakes to fish, not very big and easy to figure out a pattern and locate the fish.

Tips: Fish slow, they are in the lake!

    Water Temp: 49-50

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Well we had a club tourney here last week with 13 teams and fishing was slow. This being my first time on the lake I was hoping to see some big bags brought in based on the stories I have heard about the lake but for this weekend it was not to be. First place won with just over 7.5lbs for two fish. My partner and I finished second and got big fish with one fish for 6.95lbs. Five other teams also brought in one fish of varying sizes. Most of the fish were caught flipping blowdowns. My fish was caught on a chatterbait throwing to offshore structure.
    City: Lyle

Tips: Make sure you check your drap before you go out, I broke off a second fish as big as the first but broke it off because my drap was fully wrench down.

    Water Temp: warm enough!

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Was out at Camp Rilea for the week so I thought I'd try to hook one of the big ones out of there. Neacoxie Lake/slough. Using a green/orange rooster, Caught three or four large mouth all were about a span in length. off of the culvert over where that new housing development is between Rilea and Ridge road 730pm.
I noticed a tree laying in the water to the south so i went down there to see if I could snag something of size. the tree still had branches so I switched to a brown weighted squid like thing that resembles a minnow. I dangled it in the first open hole I found and a fish swam around it to check it out. It didn't look very big until it grabbed it. It bent my little trout pole over. It probably weighed 5 - 7 lbs and was from my elbow to where my fingers come out of my hand in length. I unhooked him and called a friend and then let him go. I'll probably go back this week and see if I can catch him again. Beautiful fish!

Tips: Carry bug spray or you'll get eaten alive out there.
If you would like to fish at rilea you should make contact with Range Control to find out whats off limits to you and so you don't get shot.
