Report: Fishing was very good overall. The bulk of the fish were in 15'-25'. Drop shot brown 4" worms or texas dark colored worms was the ticket. Best 5 fish was well over 10.0 lbs culling by 10:00am. Two big bed fish were caught over 6 lbs. It is just getting ready to go.

    Water Temp: 72

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I hadn't been to Lower Otay since I was a kid and was relieved to see the anglers at the lake, especially since it was Hump Day. Ran into a new angling club in town and they were tearing the joint up. They said that they were the Flying Piranha Brothers and they have a crazy arsenal. I ran into them on Wednesday and they were telling me about what was biting. It was my first time at the LOFT and they were helpful at telling me what were the *HOT* spots. I saw a texas rig, carolina rig, drop shot and sabiki rig. These guys were nuts.....good to see the new blood at the lake.
    City: San Diego

Tips: I was told to fish where the fish are by the first group of anglers I met. Don't be discouraged by the regulars, many of them are jerks and I wouldn't be surprised if they were racist.

    Water Temp: 75 degreez

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished for bass in most of the coves on the east side, then switched to the west coves. Tried Harvey's matted grass with no luck. Found that the matted coves are the best spot to pull them in. We ended up pulling in several bass (13", 9", 16" and 12"), not sure how heavy, forgot my scale at home. We were using crankbaits at the top, nightcrawlerz on the bottom and a drop rig setup in the weedz.
    City: Otay

Tips: Get started early in the covez, take a break during the afternoon (or fish deep), then go back to the covez in the evening...good luck, see y'all next time my fella' critterz.
