Good action cranking the points today as well. 37 on the boat..

Fished with the family, to get tuned up for the Mike Van Guilder Sr. Tournament. Wife caught her first bass. And I was able to boat a couple as well all in the Temperance area.

Report: Fished upriver to get away from the 20 boats that were in Cottonwood. Fish seemed to be holding in 10'- 20'. Fishin really turned on when breeze picked up in the afternoon. Biggest went about 3 lb. Lost a 4+ at the boat. Overall fishin was good. Lots of bites.
    City: Modesto

Tips: Dark colored plastics seemed to work best. Caught a few on crankbaits.

Im looking for a new fishin partner. (catch n relase fisherman here). Your boat or mine. Help each other out the the cost of a days fishin. Maybe fish some tourneys someday as well. Email me.

Report: Tough day on the lake...cold, windy in the afternoon. Fished all over, got only 3 bites and three fish..two on brush hogs, one on Natural Shad Senko. All fish were 25-35 feet. All we need is about two weeks of warmer weather then watch out!!!
    City: Merced

Tips: Saw two guys with at least 25 Spots 3-5#..all caught on live crawdads...pretty awesome catch...sad in a way though, they were mostly females full of eggs...

Report: Fish were not jumping in the boat but did manage 6 keepers with one 6# largemouth and a 3# spot. All came on either a 6" pro gold worm or a 5" watermelon stickbait. Fish were in 25-30 feet and fat. The largemouth had a nice belly and looked to be getting ready to spawn. Fished Temperance creek. No jig fish.

Report: Fished NorCal team and it was a tough one for us with five bites, put four in the live well for about 8.5 pounds with the two biggest being about 2.5 each. We fised slow but maybe not deep enough for long enough. All bites came in 10-20 feet but I am thinking we should have been in
50-60 feet. Caught all fish on 6" Robo worms on dart head. Could not get bit on the jig.
    City: Hilmar

    Tips: Slower and deeper!

    Water Temp: 54-57

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Been out five times in the past two weeks with today being the slowest of all the days. With that said still caught twenty+ fish today between myself and my old man. All spots, with the biggest just over four lbs. Most fish came dartheading in 10-30ft, some jig fish, but fewer than the previous trips. Also caught two swimbait fish, which has been about the same every trip (the big spot caught on my first cast with the big bait today).
    City: Turlock

Tips: The darthead has been pretty consistent with fish in the two plus pound range. However the majority of the big fish have come on the jig and swimbait. Fish have consistently been in the 30ft range, but it seems like they have been moving up as shallow as 5ft at some point in the day (even today after the cold front moved through lastnight). Good luck, Mcclure has been hot for me and producing a bigger avg fish than I can remember!!

Report: Caught 10 Bass with the biggest 4lbs and the smallest 1 lb...our best 5 went for 14 lbs...Fished all walls, and rockpiles along the east bank ust north of Temperance..with Rainbow Trout Senkos, Natural Shad Senkos, and Baby Brush Hogs; Watermelon with red flake...
    City: Merced, CA

Tips: Dead Sticking and letting it drift for 1-2 minutes in 25-30 feet of water seemed to be the trick...Most fish were in 25-30 feet of water, with my last Bass taken in 45 feet of water...slow down your retrieve and find the poclets of fish...

    Water Temp: 61.4

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished the Sonora Bass Club tourney on Saturday. 20 boats with all catching fish, but only about 8 limits. Top 3 teams had 13+ pounds for 7 fish, with most bites coming on plastics drop shot in the 25 to 40 foot range. Dead stick (very little movement)seem to work best. Most fish are suspended and tricky to catch. Fish your graph and fish verticle.
    City: Sonora

Tips: Baitfish are real small (1 - 1 1/2 inches) and drop shotting small white/natural color plastics seemed to work best. No reaction bites (tried top water and ripping)!

Report: Went out at 0700 on a beautiful morning with low clouds and thundercells in the background. Cought 10 fish by 2pm. I big, 7#, the rest small dinks. All the fish were found off rock points, in 10-25 ft of water. The best luck was on Natural Shad Minnows, and green/red baby brush hogs. Did get a couple on lucky craft ripbait.
    City: Merced, CA

Tips: Locate the fish and good luck. Didnt have alot of solid bites. Saw tons of baby bass swimming in the shallows. Saw alot of trout jumping. the lake has a Fall feel to it now.

    Water Temp: 63-66

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Toughest day of May fishing I have ever seen. Water was crystal clear, and NO BASS SHALLOW. The water again cools way off with sundown. Very windy and somewhat cold for this time of year. We fished from 3:00 P.M. till Dark, and caught a grand total of two fish. I fished all the usual spots, but all the bites except for the fish caught were "Play bites"..tap, then off. I cruised the back of the coves, and saw no beds, and even the carp were just cruising around, not even rolling around the banks..Tried senkos, brush hogs, rip baits, lizards. I caught my one on a dark smoke senko in 15' of water, and my buddy caught a pretty nice 2' in 30 feet on a cotton candy lizard...
    City: Merced, CA

Tips: No advice, hopefully the weather warms up. It still is down in the 40's at night, and the water at the dam was 66, but at horseshoe, it was at 62, and cooling. I think the cold water, and rising water elevation has messed it up. Search and move often until you find fish. They have to be somewhere...

Report: Fished this past Thursday (1/2 day), Friday and Saturday with a group of friends and camped at Mc Clure. On Thursday senko's (tried three or four different colors to find out which one worked the best)rather than minnows or anything else were what they wanted. We ended the day with 23 fish. Friday was the best day, we ended up with almost 70 fish. Maybe 10 were on minnows and the rest on senko's. One of the guys caught one that weighed 4.5 lbs. On Saturday it was slow due to a tournament. We ended up with only 15 fish. A couple on minnows, one on a spinnerbait and the rest on senko's. Including a 4 lber on a senko.
    City: Rough and Ready

Tips: Fish seemed scattered, some were at the shore and some were in 30 feet of water?? Some were on points and some were in the back of coves. Keep moving until you find them.
